did u see the combo pack the stethoscope w/blood pressure cuff?

At Jasco? I did, and have thought about getting it just for the cute print on the cuff (of course I like the pink flowers). Couldn't hurt to have a spare stethoscope laying around either.

Thank you! I finally pulled out all of my paperwork last night and looked at it all again and saw the reading assignments. When we first got our packets back in January I knew I had plenty of time (months) to read it and had put it aside to focus on my last 4 classes at the time and then forgot! So needless to say, I felt a bit overwhelmed realizing I had so much reading to do and NOW in such a short period of time, but I'm relieved to say that after staying up until 1:30am, I've got everything in order and I feel pretty organized at the moment. Thanks so much for mentioning the readings because I would've freaked out if I hadn't of noticed it until the night before class begins! I've been reading the Fundamentals of Success throughout the summer but that was it. Thanks again! :bow:

who is attending school in the day? what hospital will u been doing your clinicals?

I am attending school in day. I will be doing my clinical at east jefferson hospital on tuesday.

We have two weeks and couple of days before school starts. I hope everyone is getting ready.

What should we bring on the frist day of orientation?

has everyone done cpr certification? i was supposed to do mine next sunday, but it looks like it's gonna fall through :uhoh3: anyone have any suggestions? tia

I did mine through Ochsner Training center in Elmwood. I heard they book up fast but maybe if you beg them they can fit you in next class. Their number is 842-6684.

thanks for your reply, cajunmom. i called ochsner but they couldnt help me.

but i did manage to find another cpr class. if anyone else still needs it, here's the info. it's at tulane- the health sciences ctr on canal st, i believe- at least that's where i have to go get my info packet from.

the phone # is 588-2212. they still had 6 openings for the 5pm class this wednesday about an hour ago when i called. the cost is $45 and they need a credit card to guarantee your spot.

is anyone going to the student to student orientation on wednesday? i'm going to go if i'm off work that morning, but i can't ask for any more days off

It doesn't matter if people have medical exp or not when getting in but it may help after they are in because they may feel more comfortable with task during clinical. You will do find!! Good luck :)
