Charity Class starting in Spring 2010

Pharm isn't a lot of notes really. They're organized very well, much easier than handwriting. All lectures are on Tegrity so if you didn't catch something or miss lecture, it's all there for you.

Great to hear from all of you that are starting in Janaury!

I attended the Open House on November 14th and I found it be super helpful! The tour was very helpful, considering I had no clue where to even go the first day of class! Also, family got to see where I was going to school. I have ordered my books from Amazon. I spent about 600.00 which I thought was awesome! I marked yesterday, the reading assignment due for the first week! (Im trying to be prepared!) I am planning to attend the student to student session. I think it's January 13th?? No sure, since I don't have the papers right in front of me. When is everyone planning to order their uniforms? I scheduled my clinicals at St. Tammany considering I live in Covington! That was very nice. I look forward to meeting all of you! Let me know if anyone else has clinical at STPH. Thanks!

What is everyonne doing about their CPR class... I've called a few places but for whatever reason noone seems to want to return my phone calls?? Anyone else having this problem or any recommendation on where to go?

I had no problem making my appt. I scheduled mine with the lady in Slidell on Dec. 31st at 9 am in the morning. I also had a friend who scheduled the same class with no problems! Hope this helps.

Thanks Blester right after I got your message someone from Tulane got in contact with me I'm going on Dec 18th

and runkaterun... I thought we had to get it thru The American Heart Association. I think my adviser told me not to get it thru the Red Cross, I could be mistaken though.

i dont know my friend who started in the fall went there and she didn't have a problem.

they have cpr for the health care provider.

I went to the open house also. Was very informative and made me more comfortable. I'll be taking my clinicals at Oschner in Kenner. Haven't ordered books yet, but yes amazon seems to be the best place to purchase. The CPR course was easy to set up and easy to pass......I ordered and received my uniforms from the shop on Tulane last month. It was cool to finally be in full preparation for this. Can't believe we'll begin in a little more than a month. I wish everyone the best of luck.

I'm going to be doing my clinicals at Oschner in Elmwood. I haven't ordered my books either, Barnes and Noble is giving the "club" price and free shipping. I haven't gotten my uniform yet since we do not need them for a while. It is coming up REALLY fast I can't believe it! I'm getting nervous/excited.

But the American Heart Assoc. doesn't have to be renewed until two years! I got all my books and Im going to start reading the assignments right after Christmas! I am planning to get my insurance in January. Along with the uniforms! When is everyone else getting their insurance? Anyone going to the student to student on the 13th? Getting very excited to meet everyone!!

When you sign up for yoru insurance you can tell them when you want it to start. I signed up for mine and it will start Jan. 10th. I'm going to wait to get uniforms because we wont need them for a while. I had to apply for health insurance so I'm just waiting to find out about that. I'm not going on the 13th.

Red Cross lasts for 2 years.

I start Charity in Jan2010. I am excited, yet nervous and anxious. I too bought all my book from amazon. I bought my uniforms from Elgee on tulane st. I started my reading today. I am in section 303 for basics and pharm. My clinical at Unversity. I have insurance with my empolyer, but I am gonna quit my job so I will have to pay for health insurance. I finally bought my stethoscope after agonizing over which is best (Littman Cardio II ) from allheart.com $138.00 . I recently seen my Basics instructor and she seemed nice, so I feel comfortable about my choice. I will be attending the student event Jan 13. See u there. I will probably be the shortest (5'5) and youngest guy there. So if you see me say hi !
