Hi Everyone,
I recently graduated from the RN program in April. I landed a job in a float pool position for adult medicine. The position is under a "New Grad Program" here in Ontario. Basically it is a mentorship/learning program for 3 months. I am just about finished my 3 months. However, my fiancé has gotten a job in B.C and is starting mid October. I am concerned about leaving my current job as I have only been working here since July. I have started my applications for becoming registered in BC and have contacted some hospitals about employment and site visits. I'd like to see myself out there by end of October. But is this too soon? Does it make me look like a bad employee? Any advice would be awesome!
Thank you!

You're leaving because you need to relocate. This is not a reflection on your work habits. People leave jobs regularly for relocation.
The job market in BC and AB is not good. The unions are fighting with the Provinces due to reduction of RN positions and workloads. Have some savings to carry you through. You will probably need to accept a casual position to start.

Hi, relocating is different than just quiting your job for something better. Most employers will understand your situation. Always leave a job in good standing, clear communication and show your best work while you are still their employee. References are important. Good luck in whatever nursing job you choose. Nursing is a great profession.
