Chances of unrestricted RN License?
I am about to graduate in a few months and was wondering what you guys think. I got a MIP and a DUI respectively a little over 5 years ago (like a month apart) and am concerned about what the board will do. I know that I have to be honest with them and I absolutely will. I have already called them to see what usually happens and they said they take everything on a case by case basis and that's all they will tell me. I don't need anyone to tell me how stupid it was for me to do it because trust me, I know. I am not a drinker. I just made some stupid mistakes as a kid in college.
I'm just asking if anyone knows about what typically happens in my circumstances in my state (Mississippi).

Look under your BON website to see if they have a list of absolute disciplinary rules for each situation and see if that helps. Each state is different-I'm far away
They don't and won't tell me anything.

If they won't tell you, no one here will probably be able to tell you either. You will most likely have to take your chances when you apply once you finish school.

I am sure it varies with state but I had a classmate who got a dui while we were in nursing school and she is now licensed without restrictions.
I think what worries me the most at this point is that I have both the MIP and the DUI. That's two misdemeanors. They were really close together but the BON may use it to say that I have a dependency or something. At the time I didn't think an MIP was that serious since there was no arrest, the cops just pulled me aside from the bar, wrote me a ticket, and left.
