Is there a high chance to get a nursing job in Australia after the bridging? Anyone knows what region or place in Australia still has a high demand for nurses? Thanks.. I am scared to waste my hard earned money..

Using the statistics on this forum if friends of friends, cousins cousins of cousins , colleagues of friends of overseas nurses get jobs in the past 3years then they will get a job just as easy. It seems ,everything stays static, visa,s governments, shortages in nursing.

It is just such a pity many do not post here and let people back home their experiences.

I have friends who just had their bp and were offered with sponsorship after a month and the other is after a week after they got their registration. But well, these people have 4-5 years experience and are not member of the forum so they can't post here. :)

And did they have a specialty ?

Kabayan, do you know or kept in touch with the other people from your bp program if they all have already secured a hospital nursing job?

Hi steppybay. I am from January batch in ETEA and so far, only 3 if us got a job yet. All my other classmates, most of them from India, went back to their country because they weren't able to find sponsorship. But well, there is this batch in LTU Bendigo batch June 2013 and I think, some of them are getting sponsorships like few days after obtaining their registration.. Some in Sydney, while my friend got a job in Canberra.

Yeap. NICU. But the other one was accepted in SICU even if her experience is in MS ward only.

In the area where I live (Illawarra region of NSW), I was told by my colleague that sponsorship for overseas nurses is almost non-existent. Although, in one hospital there are a lot of nurses on a 457 visa and the hospital is offering PR visa to them.

yes I'm done with my bp. I have my registration already.. I just want to change my visa to student. Is that possible? Do you know anyone who has that same condition as mine?

Hi princess, I can't send a private message in your inbox since it says you have to clear out some messages first in order for me to send you one. thanks!

Is this possible?what is ur previous visa? And why do u want to change it?

hi belle_v2g, if I may ask, did you borrow money for the BP or did you pay it by yourself? I'm a bit hesitant in pushing through with the BP since I can't 100% finance the BP there, plus the fact that its getting hard to land a job right away makes me think twice in pursuing a career in AU. thanks

Everything was shouldered by my relatives. I didn't know about these lending companies tied up with the agencies during the time i applied for australia.

oh ok. one more thing, are the chances of being sponsored PR visas becoming slimmer and slimmer these days? I've read somewhere in the previous posts that this recession will only last until this year. would 2014 be any good for overseas RNs? thanks
