Is there a high chance to get a nursing job in Australia after the bridging? Anyone knows what region or place in Australia still has a high demand for nurses? Thanks.. I am scared to waste my hard earned money..

Thank you. Dont worry i dont see it as a discouragement but only a reality.taking the bridging course was my original plan but because of the .5 in writing that i didnt get made me think if all these things. Yeah i know that i cannot be registered as a nurse when ill take age care, what im thinking is to use that time in processing aphra.although i really know tha its not ghat easy. Well, how long does it usually takes for aphra to release the letter?thanks

so you'll just double up your expenses by taking Aged Care courses, then the bridging program after. And you know you still need to repeat your IELTS to get 7 and be registered.

processing time depends on which state you will apply. I read from somewhere that an overseas applicant submitted her application to Darwin and got the eligibility in 5 weeks.

they said it's easier than IELTS. I tried the practice test online and it's probably easier because it's nurse-specific. But IELTS is more accessible and there's a lot of practice materials for it, unlike OET.

Yeah, thats very true and here in my country there's only 2 review centers for oet. Thanks again for patiently answerig all my inquiries.

there wasn't any OET review centre before. I'm from the Philippines, too. =>

Good luck!

hi, just dropped by to give my thoughts about the oet. (just took it last 17 Aug). in general, its a learning curve if you're used to IELTS. if you can't find a good source of review materials for OET, forget taking it or risk being frustrated (and risk losing 728 AUD). the listening part is almost twice as long as that of IELTS. for the reading test, its divided into a 15 minute part A and 45 mins part B. however, for the writing test, I found it easier and felt more comfortable with it than the IELTS writing test because all you need to do is make a comprehensive referral letter to another healthcare professional. as for the speaking test, its conducted through a role play. during my test, the guy who interviewed me seemed to be unfamiliar with the OET speaking test (based from his constant glancing at the index cards on hand), yet, he was very helpful, he kept asking a lot of questions to help me keep talking. the test is also conducted exclusively by IDP in manila, and it extremely costs more than an IELTS test. my advice: if you only need a 0.5 score to get a band of 7, stick with IELTS as (1) it is cheaper than OET (2) it is available throughout the year (3) abundance of review materials (4) you can always have your test remarked (if you feel confident that you deserve a higher mark).

Sir would you mind if i add you on fb? I think we could exchange notes since I'm starting to process my NMC for UK and my BP application just in case ;)

Hello to everyone.

Do you understand that you are asking this question under the thread title: Is there work after bridging course in Australia?

In Australia ..no.

You will have to post a new thread with this title, for others outside interest in Australia to see it.
