Chances of getting in Chamberlain?

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

Hi guys! I just wanted to talk about my chances of getting into Chamberlain. I took some science courses at another university and did miserably due to depression from losing my friend to suicide. I transferred to a community college and did way better a year later. My GPA is 2.98 I am going to take my HESI soon and I really want to score high so I can be in competitive due to my low GPA. Do you think they will accept me? I have been freaking out all month about it. Also some tips for the HESI will be greatly appreciated !

Hi Ememz, what is the Troy campus like? I recently learnt abt it and I applied so I’m just waiting to hear back from them. What is your class schedule and are you enjoying being at Chamberlain?

Hi there ! I am currently talking Health Assessment 1 and Patho right now. The campus is small but you’ll get around easy and you get more closer with people in your classes. I enjoy it because I don’t have to drive long distance like Wayne or Madonna, it is expensive though. So far I don’t have any complaints about it, the teacher seems to be very kind and help there students. Let me know if you get accepted! I’m sure you will though :)

I’m so happy I found you LOL. I’ve been searching for someone from Michigan. The advisor told me today that my file is sent to the committee and I should hear back within 10 business days. I have most of my prerequisites done so that should help a bit. It is EXPENSIVE for sure and I think that’s my only con so far. Do you know how many students they usually accept per semester?

I believe at least 100 (a year?) but I’m not sure LOL. According to my friend the numbers of students they accept increased through out the years because Chamberlain is getting more known and more people are applying. I even heard so many people are applying that they might have a waitlist now. Did you take the HESI yet btw ? I didn’t do good on the HESI but I passed and my GPA wasn’t that great either, I’m sure you got this.

No I didn’t take the HESI, it’s waived at least for now. So I was told I don’t need to take the HESI as part of the requirement but once in the program I would need to take it but the results would not affect my admission. I believe my GPA is around 3.3 if I’m not mistaken. What days and time frame do you have classes? I work I’m hoping my class schedule won’t affect it for me to change jobs. I also applied to HFC, that’s where I took my prerequisites. They pushed their deadline all the way to July 15th. After you got accepted into Chamberlain, how long did they give for you to fully commit?

Over the other semesters my schedule wasn’t that much full. I would have at least 2 days off during the week (plus weekends).

Your GPA sounds great, I know people who got in with a 2.8 so I’m sure you’ll be accepted.

Right now my classes are Monday is 9 AM - 11:50, Tuesday I have lab at 1 PM-2:50, Wednesday is 8 AM - 10:50, Thursday I have a day off, Friday is 8 AM - 10:50. Some of my classmates fit lecture and labs on the same days so they can an extra day off. Make sure to register early so you can see your options. But because Troy campus is so small, there’s not many options. Check if that class have labs and register for them too. They fill up quick and you might be behind graduation.
By fully commit you mean start classes? Honestly I applied last minute, like two weeks before September semester (2019) started. So when I got accepted I basically started classes right when the semester started. It is a lot of pressure though because once you get into the program, there’s a lot of paper work and shots you need just to be compliant, even though you’re not even doing clinicals yet.

OK, I like the fact that the days aren’t a 8-5pm LOL. There might be hope for me after all LOL. Usually when I see people get their acceptance letters it usually states a date for them to respond that they accept and that’s what I meant by fully commit. I want to know if I get accepted into HFC because it’s way cheaper even though it’s just an associates. I do love the fact that chamberlain has smaller class sizes. Thanks for answering all my questions, you’re awesome.

I haven’t heard about HFC much, but I think any school is cheaper than Chamberlain. They recently increased the tuition last March. Definitely go with the cheaper option if you can of course! Last semester I register for my classes super late and ended up having lecture at 9-11:50, then I had to wait on campus for 3 hours for lab at 3:00... so yeah, if you do plan on going to Chamberlain then make sure to do it early as possible. Let me know which school you decide on! Good luck to you!!

Hi Ememz

I wanted to let you know that I got accepted! I happy but super nervous. I have a zoom pre enrollment meeting coming up.

Hey Ali!

Congratulations on getting accepted! I am very happy for you to start your journey on becoming a fantastic nurse. Be nervous but also excited on your very first step! Celebrate before your semester starts because it’s going to be a bumpy road. I am here to guide if you have any questions. Good luck!

I’m in the SGA and SNA club. Maybe one day we can meet on campus as classmates and become friends!
