Chamberlain University January 2021

Published

Just wondering if anyone else is applying or has been accepted to the January 2021 cohort. I am currently in west Texas working in the oil fields. I absolutely hate it. I applied and was accepted to the Pearland Chamberlain campus back in 2017. I completed Nurs-103 and had to stop attending for personal reasons. But I reached out recently to apply for the Las Vegas campus. I've talked a second time with admissions and updated my app for the January start date. I was told since I am a former student I don't need to retake the HESI. All im waiting for is for the evaluation board to review my file and accept me. So I wanted to start this thread for admitted or potentially admitted students so we can get to know each other and network together.

Just finished with going over my transcript with the academic advisor. Waiting for the nursing committee decision.. Pray for me!

That’s awesome. As long as you go over that you should be in. Don’t quote me on it. I’m still waiting on mine as well. I had to send in a transcript from a university I attended. Then it was lost for a few days. But I spoke with my counselor she says I should be reviewed this Wednesday. So I hope to have an update soon so I can make that move to LV soon.

what did you transfer in?

I just got done with my HESI yesterday. My Academic Advisor told me she’s sending my file to to committee. Praying I get into the Vegas location. It’s so nerve racking. Who else is applying to the Vegas location?

Prior to my HESI exam my advisor and I went over what classes would be transferable and which ones wouldn’t be. She sent me a list of classes I would need to take.  I was confused why we would go over my class prior to taking my HESI exam.

Hi, Jlazo! I am also applying to the LV campus. I'm still finishing up my personal statement but luckily, I don't have to take HESI until after I get acceoted since I applied early before July 29th. Good luck!

For those who got accepted into the program, how did they notify you to inform you that you’ve been admitted?

The reason why I ask is because I missed a call from the chamberlain in Las Vegas location and she left me a message. She said she has an update for me. However, this is coming from a different admissions lady than the one who was helping me with my application.

Crossing my fingers that I got in!

Just giving an update. I got a call about two weeks ago that I was accepted but put into a alternate entry seat. Meaning if someone drops from the program before it starts I’d be on a list of people to take their spot. Then last week I received a call that someone had dropped from their entry seat and that I would now be bumped into and actual seat that starts January 4. Tomorrow I’ll be doing a virtual meeting with my admissions counselor and someone else to cover costs, background/drug test, potential graduation date, cost to me for the program, etc.I’ll report back afterward. I hope to see you guys there in classes. ?

@Murse0341,

Yay Congrats! My pre enrollment is nov 18 for January 4th classes for the Vegas location. Which location are you attending? Do you know if they will be starting the cohort in person or online?

Thanks! ? I’ll be attending the Vegas location as well. My admissions rep told me she is 90% sure that my classes will still be online because there are allegedly more cases of COVID in LV area. As for labs she says they will be held on campus but other than that they will keep the campus closed from people being there.

@Murse0341 thanks for the info. I currently live in CA so I’m seeing if I need to make the move next month to Vegas or if it’s something I can manage here in CA.  I had to reschedule my pre enrollment to the 18th. Do you recall how much you have to pay to reserve your seat?

January will be here before we know it! I’m so excited to finally start the next chapter in my nursing career. We’re one step closer to being a nurse. Hope to meet you in the program.

What scores do they look at for the HESI? I bombed the science portion but did good on the rest and I’m nervous that my overall score isn’t high enough! I’ve heard they used to look at only English and math but has it changed?!

Anyone here getting into the May 2021 cohort here in Atlanta??

Does anyone here got accepted but in alternate status for May 2021  start class ?
