Hello Everyone!

I am new to this awesome site!!!! I have been thinking about Chamberlain College. If anyone is attending this program and has info, I would love your input. Im very nervous about nursing school. I am 36 yrs. old, currently work at a dentist office, but was thinking about a job in a hospital setting. I have two children 17 & 9, and a very supportive husband. I am currently in A&P II, this is my last class to take before I have to make a school choice. Any input or words of advise from anyone would be terrific.

I was very leary about the program being that it is an online program. I live in Saint Louis so I don't know how it works if you do not live here as far as clinicals. I've heard some pretty good things about the school. Its going through a big transition, so we'll see. Of course all NS have their ups and downs but overall, it's about what you put into it. Some think that it's going to be easier because its online. I understand that it is not easier. In my opinion, I would think it would be harder. Just call and talk to the admissions rep, they're cool. Good Luck to you.

Yes, welcome to allnurses!! I am a student at St. Louis Community College and don't know much about Chamberlain's program.

I remember being nervous about nursing school and it can be a lot of work and a LOT of learning, but just remember: what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, lolol....somedays it feels that way!!!

Best wishes as you make your decision!

Welcome to allnurses. Suggest you do a search on the site and read the many threads and comments about Chamberlain. Good luck in your school choice.

I graduated from Deaconess (Chamberlain) 2 yrs ago. I had an awesome experience. I live in TN and did my clinicals at hospitals in my area.

hi! i am in my very first week at chamberlain..i work very, very part time and stay at home with my 2 year old. i am finding myself very overwhelmed. i am doing a&p and college algebra. i have recent bio, a&p, and basic math course under my belt from cc, but this is still a lot of work!!! good luck to you! i would still much prefer this online program to any brick and mortar school

Congrates on your first week!! I have heard alot of bad input on the way clinicals are set up. (not on this site) How hard is it to find a site for the clinicals?

i actually live in columbus, ohio where there is a chamberlain campus, so i assume i will do clinicals with my class! so far, i would still recommend chamberlain to interested students!

Well, I applied, hoping to get in the July class. Wish me luck.

Hi all!

I am currently in the 4th week of my second semester at Chamberlain(online program). The first semester was VERY stressful! I did not study enough though, but my teachers were FANTASTIC!! This semester I have "scheduled" myself for studying and am already doing so much better. My teachers are also really good-and my clinical preceptor is awesome. Now for the downfall, I am not sure why, but to get help from the actual school is very disheartening. My admissions advisor was great and ALL over me.......now though I have to persue whomever I need to get ahold of. It has stressed me out, but now that I know this-I will just automatically assume it will be difficult to get help.

Good luck with your decision, I really think what you get out of it is what you put into it. I come from no experience and my teachers have been very helpful!
