SN3RD 25 Posts Jun 23, 2011 Do you HAVE to use the transition's book? I read some horrible reviews on it at ebay/amazon. Not sure if I should even get it???? Can I manage my assignments without it?

Jun 23, 2011 I never really looked at any of the books, but if you want them I would recommend buying old editions for cheap. I spent way too much money for new ones. You don't need a book for capstone. Its all done online.
SN3RD 25 Posts Jun 24, 2011 During the ADN program I NEVER read my books but since this is online I dont know how the structure is. If the book is for you to "know things" then I will skip it but if I need it for assignments then I think I would have to get it. I know the Sociology book is an E-book and it is charged as part of the tuition so I have no choice on that one. I think i'm leading towards not getting the transitions book.
Rebo 3 Posts Jul 4, 2011 Hi everyone!I'm so happy to find this site! I'm suppose to start the summer session as well. Right now though, I'm a little lost about the enrollment process. I did the online orientation already. I have not yet heard from Academic Service Team, and I am limited to what I can access on the school's website/portal. I called Tech support, and was informed I'm not enrolled yet. Can anyone here please enlighten me about this? Thanks so much in advance!
SN3RD 25 Posts Jul 4, 2011 I was able to log on to the Transitions class but not the sociology one. I have no idea what I am doing yet.
SN3RD 25 Posts Jul 6, 2011 Hey, how is everybody doing so far? Im still navigating the site and getting use to some things but hopefully this will all become easier soon. Its looks like a hell of a lot of writing.
Rebo 3 Posts Jul 6, 2011 I just got registered this morning. I'm hoping tomorrow, I'll be able to access and go to class.
firefox828 105 Posts Jul 8, 2011 Hi! It is safe to say the program is easy once you're done, but it is not. Most classes, if not all, are writing-intensive. I did 2 classes per session (only one class the first time so I can get used to it), and I tried to write my paper/s for one class in advance on days that I was off from work. It won't work with DeVry classes though, because you're not able to view the discussion threads/assignments in advance. I did it in 11 months; graduated last February. Good luck to everyone. You can do it, too.
SN3RD 25 Posts Jul 8, 2011 You are not kidding when you say writing-intensive! Whew! It has only been one week and I've been logging in to class for several hours a day. Aside from learning how to navigate the site, I spend quite some time on the threads trying to formulate an opinion. You see, I am not a good writer but I think this structure will help me become a better one in the long run. I do hope I do well this semester though. I am taking transitions with sociology.

HI SN3RD,Are you in Cultural Diversity with Prof D? I just started this week too! I think we are in the same boat, writing is not my strongest attribute and Oh My! its all writing. Well Good Luck, just wanted to say Hi and see if we are in the same class!
