What are your thoughts about Chamberlain College of Nursing FNP program?
Chiming in here as a nurse faculty/advisor/administrator who sees it from the inside. Chamberlain FNP grads will do just fine. The issue about for profit / non profit is irrelevant. The richest schools are not for profit. It just differs on how the money is paid out. Start up schools that are accredited are a good bet usually.
I am currently enrolled in NP program with University Texas Arlington. Most of the NP programs are traditional and some online courses. Because I work, I considered Chamberlain 100% online FNP program. I have been accepted. I am hesitant because the program will have only been in existence a year come July 2014. Having said that, I could not compare pass/fail ratio. I know they are accredited and he Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, ncahlc.org. The Master of Science in Nursing degree program at Chamberlain College of Nursing are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE,One DuPont Circle, NW, Suite 530, Washington, DC 20036, 202.887.6791). Still a bit hesitant. If anyone has additional info that may help me in my decision, I welcome your comments.
Hello Freedomrn1. I'm contemplating attending Chamberlain this fall. What do you suggest for clinical site? They have no academic affiliations with the majority of hospital in the Dallas Metro. This is my greatest concern regarding the program. I know I do well and get the most of it because I want it.

I checked yesterday,14 Nov, & 18 states still not approving the FNP program. However, it used to be 21 at least 2 months ago. States are slowly approving the program. Best to call the NC state BON to see where they are in the approval process.
