Hi!
I am looking to start Chamberlain about July 2015. I am seeking students that are already in the course and want to provide some insight into the courses/advice.
Also looking for soon to be students to link up.
All the previous threads are from previous years so it's time to start a new thread.
RedCarnation,
Thanks immensely for PMing your adviser's info -- I have an update: I was able to reach her and I started the application process by e-signing 3 forms. You were right, she's great and has been very helpful. Thanks :)
She asked who had referred me to her and I told her it was a fellow Floridian starting in September... She has me starting in October because she says the September cohort is already full. I'm still asking to start in September so there's a possibility we could start at the same time and help each other out.
Please let me know whether you've already made a decision regarding which school you'll attend for your FNP. Anyway, stay in touch and feel free to PM me as I'm unable to
Again, thanks and look forward to our continued support through this forum, hopefully many will benefit from us sharing details of the process.
Ted
Hi noureend,
Coincidentally, just a few hours ago I wrote a public message to RedCarnation (also in the Orlando area) and thanks to her I was able to get a hold of someone over at Chamberlain... you can read the rest on the post.
FYI, I'm down to Chamberlain and South University... I'll need to make a decision soon but Chamberlain offers pretty decent discounts for certain affiliations...
Stay in touch if you like -- Who knows maybe along with RedCarnation we can all support one another through the CCN FNP :)

As for finding preceptors, start early but try not to stress out! I work in a large hospital system with outpatient clinics. I emailed every NP in the system. You will get a lot of "no's" or non-responses but I've also got a few that have said yes. Also, check out community clinics for low-income or minority populations. They often have many NPs working for them and are usually happy to precept. I have a couple of prospects from such clinics. Chamberlain seems to have broadened their rules on preceptors to become more inclusive, as many students were having such a hard time finding people.
Hi.
I had started the program at South University and finished one class and then had to withdraw because they messed up on my financial aid and put me down as getting a bachelors and since i already had a bachelors in health science i couldn't get loans and needed to be in a masters program, so now applying to Nova. Have you narrowed down to which one you want to go to?
hi applied at chamberlain just today!! :) waiting for the result.. next class will be on october. how is it so far?? when i spoke to a representative at our hospital, he said that the school will provide the preceptors, but when i spoke to an admission rep he said no. any thoughtS?? thanks :)
