I'm very excited as I just got my acceptance call! I was wondering if anyone else around here would be starting Oct 28th? I'd like to keep in touch to help each other out through this!
I've been a nurse for 8yrs and always knew I'd go back eventually....decided to pull the trigger a few weeks ago and apply. Now just need to get together some supplies and order my books! (going to buy a desk and make my little zen study area!)
good luck everyone!
oh good. and i love the fact, we only have to take one class at a time. since they didn't require much for admission, i am little worried, most of the schools require a lot more.. do you know why? because of that , is the college academic same as others?.. when we graduate , same like graduatse from the other school right? do you know anyone went there already?
Honestly, I think the school doesn't require much bc they want as much money/students as possible to go through the program. With that being said, that doesn't mean it's a "bad" school or program. The first graduates are going to be graduating in April so when can then see the academic standing, graduation rate. Also, CCN is totally accredited but doesn't have a name like Duke or Georgetown to demand a big draw so that's a way to intise more students, no giant hoops to go threw.
Moreover, I have been speaking with a lot of doctorate and master prepared NP that say their employer doesn't even ask where they have been to school so school recognition isn't a big deal. The "big deal" in the future for NPs is that they have their doctorate. Getting into any FNP program now is imperative if you don't want to complete your doctorate bc at some point I heard they may mandate a doctorate for NPs, but if you already have your NP then you are good!
i was wondering the same .. that's nice if they do it.. yey.. congrats cinco08..you are from OK too?.. so happy to hear that...do you know if chamberlain is aproved by the state of OK?.. i wasn't sure, so i called and left a msg for OK board of nursing . they haven't called me back yet. just wanted to make sure before i invest all the time, money, hard work towards it.. where are you in OK? i live in Tecumseh, Ok
when I talked to the counselor she said, to call the board and make sure. On Chamberlains website, it said they don't regulate , so they don't agree or disagree.. i don't know whats that mean/... i called the board ad left msg. noone called me back yet..where do you work Cinco08? i work at VA hospital..

Sure!
The classes are 8 weeks and I am pretty familiar with that format bc I did my RN-BSN at JU and they were 8 week classes-which I loved!
from what I have heard it's all paper writing for the first couple classes bc the first class the only textbook required is an APA format manual.
