Is there anyone who knows about challenging the LPN boards in Florida? I'm a nursing student, and I've worked as a tech for 4 years. I have a year of RN clinicals behind me already, and for personal reasons I'm having to take a break in my RN classes. I was hoping to challenge the LPN boards, as one of my instructors suggested to me. That way, as I have to move and the school I'm in now won't transfer clinical hours, I can do a LPN to RN bridge program at the school I'm moving closer to.
Does anyone have any information about whether or not I can do this, and how I would go about it???
Thanks for any help.

I really would be interested in knowing this also. What is the criteria for RN students to challenge LPN boards?
THANKS

There are several schools that allow ADN students to take the LPN boards after completing their first year (Saint Petersburg College is one), first check with your school as they have to provide the accepted LPN education in that first year (which if your instructor is encouraging you to do so sounds like it is a participant in this system) and then apply through the BON.
Good luck!

Contact your state board and get your transcripts from college in case they are needed. Many schools are set up to allow ADN students to take the LPN boards after the first year so it could be possible.
