Challenge NCLEX-PN

Published

Hi. Has anyone here studied in an accredited 4yr nursing program in the Philippines and was not able to finish it? I have 3 semesters left from graduating. Is it possible to challenge NCLEX-PN?

The BON will need a copy of your transcripts and they are the ones to determine if you meet their requirements and can sit NCLEX

Yes. I know somebody who didn't finish her BSN in the Philippines and she challenged the BVNPT to apply for the NCLEX-PN. Here in California, she used method 3 and she went to ERES in Sacramento (old office address) to inquire about education equivalency. Their office is now in Fairfield.

Here is the link for ERES: https://www.eres.com/ and please also read the instructions from the BVNPT website about method 3.

Let me tell you that she was granted eligibility to take NCLEX-PN and she is now working as LVN.

A lot is going to depend on which state they want to apply to

Right. That is if @eihxelis here in California.

Thank you. I will look into it. I’m currently in New Jersey.

Was it her last year when she moved to California? And may I know when did she take the NCLEX-PN?

Just remember that challenge in one state doesn’t mean you will meet requirements in another. Only thing you can do is apply and wait to see what the BON says

She didn't move here. She came here in California 2009. That's when she stopped her BSN in the Philippines. She took the NCLEX-PN in October 2019.

To be honest, I don't know. Different state/territory, different methods or ways of applying as a foreign applicant. You have to contact your State's board of vocational/practical nursing or your preferred State and inquire.

I already asked NJ BON and they said I cannot challenge the NCLEX ? I guess I have to go back to the Philippines. But I have to do it over again since there will be a new curriculum when I get back. ?
