It is good to read that some of you are successful and are ready to enter the US jobmarket.
I applied almost one year ago (will be one year in march) for CVS N.Y. .
They couldn't get any transcripts (some might remember me complaining...), however they don't submit ANY report to N.Y..
Last time I called they said that they will send it within 45 days, nothing happend so far and N.Y. won't do anything without their report, even if it says that they have no idea how my education is in comparison to the US standards.
Is it best to call the QM?
Another question: Is it possible to apply in two states for initial license? I got stuff send in from the nursing schools and the license authority , it was for VS (I won't need that any more, but could use it for the CES etc..)? Or do I have to wait until N.Y. responds to whatever will be send by CVS N.Y.?
Hi Suzanne, My brother and his wife phoned cgfns last nite and were told that it didnt matter that all the transcripts arrived for visa screen. and that it was a specific requirement that transcripts arrive from there college directly to ces for new york and they cannot use the ones that arrived for visa screen

They do not accept documents send in for Visa Screen. I have the same problem! N.Z. Service coul not get transcripts, but I got some for the Visa Screen. Noe N.Y. BON will do a judgement call.
May I ask how to call QM in CGFNS? I submitted my application for CVS in March as well, I think it's time to call, how do you guys think? :)
First I called customer service and said that I would like to speak to somebody from the QM regarding my N.Y. CVS application. He tranfered the call and the very friendly person from the QM takes care of that now.
But if you don't have the transcripts the CVS is still not completed. What do you expect NY to do with the report w/o transcript? I am going to write to NY complaining about CGFNS. If there are enough people doing this we might be able to convince NY to take CVS out of CGFNS. Honestly there is a confliction of interests here. If I was CGFNS I wouldn't be so passionate about this New York thing.

i appreciate your thought. why not complain about cgfns collectively. there are many nurses who have had problem with cgfns. and this ny cvs is another most difficult and complicated service of cgfns. there is a looong wait. cgfns takes this job very lightly without realizing how important it is for the candidate. we spend a lot of energy, money and time on it. many times they don't even talk nicely. i am not sure if nysed is the appropriate place to complain but at least they will have some record on file, and if they continuously receive such complaints , may be they will not give that contract to cgfns next time.
anyway i have decided to write to nysed and my congress man, good luck to you. i just wanted to tell people what i have experienced as a matter of fact, no stretching no cutting. i think i am entitled to a good service since i have paid for it. what the heck do cgfns think they are? they are just a ngo registered in pennsylvania, a business organization which takes money in exchange for service. they are private people just like you and me.

You know, I also have the same sentiments. I have applied cvs last Dec months have passed, still no report issued. Ok so that is understandable as it takes 6 months maximum. What makes me mad is that everytime I contact cgfns, be it thru phone or email, I get the same response..."pls wait 4-6 weeks for your report to be issued" 6 weeks have passed and NOTHING That is totally insane I mean we are paying them for this service and we get this kind of response from their robotic customer reps (i call them robots cos all they do is scan thru their monitors not really knowing about the status of our application, then they make promising statements)The fact of the matter is CGFNS cant deliver! Do you have any idea on where to bring this matter up? I want to file a complaint with regards to their pooor service..sigh...im jus feeling helpless now because I live so far away from PA.
I contacted Quality Managment via phone and complaint. They investigated and promised to take care of everything. I sent out other emails, put everything in writing. Well, it took them more than one year to issue a report ( which doesn't make sense anymore).
In the meantime I applied in another state which requires CES , now I am waiting for CES to be done.
