CGFNS Service drives me nuts

It is good to read that some of you are successful and are ready to enter the US jobmarket.

I applied almost one year ago (will be one year in march) for CVS N.Y. .

They couldn't get any transcripts (some might remember me complaining...), however they don't submit ANY report to N.Y..

Last time I called they said that they will send it within 45 days, nothing happend so far and N.Y. won't do anything without their report, even if it says that they have no idea how my education is in comparison to the US standards.

Is it best to call the QM?

Another question: Is it possible to apply in two states for initial license? I got stuff send in from the nursing schools and the license authority , it was for VS (I won't need that any more, but could use it for the CES etc..)? Or do I have to wait until N.Y. responds to whatever will be send by CVS N.Y.?

At this point, just apply to Vermont so that you can get the exam done. Most have no issues with CGFNS, but the few that do, watch out.

CGFNS actually should send your file, completed or not, to the NY BON after six months.

I called CGFNS and the customer service said that he is sending a note.

Yes, I am sure that I am one of the sad cases here...

O.k., to move on, I have to apply in Vermont for initial license ? I re checked the the MA BON and they added a comment that to get an endorsement a foreign nurse should call the customer service to get instructions, so I guess I got wrong informations twice regarding endorsement ( Do you remember, they told me that to éndorse a license I will have to get CES, Visa Screen Certificate or the CGFNS exam done, I called them twice- it is an outsource office in Texas).

I will check Vermont and I guess, I will have more questions. I also called the N.Y.BON and they told me that without the CGFNS statement they canät do anything, but indeed,it does not look good.

Is it a problem that I still need to wait to do AOS, as my dh 's employer is still doing the labor certification process?

Here is another question. The form says " if your nursing education ....were not in English you must apply first to CGFNS"

What kind of service do I need from CGFNS?

The good think is that they can use everything I got for the Visa Screen Certificate ( I hope so...). Massachusetts also uses CES, is there an advantage when going Vermont? Are they faster than MA?

Nice Nightmare. Tomorrow I will call the QM and see if I can get my money for the CVS. Somehow I am convinced that they never send out anything, because they couldn't get anything and first time I send the stuff out for Visa Screen I get something (still don't know if enough but at least a reply...). Is the director of QM the right person for my complain?

Vermont doesn't require the CES. But you will still need to deal with CGFNS for the Visa Screen. In your case, you are just trying to get the NCLEX written and done with. For you, at this point, Vermont would be the fastest. Then you can work on endorsing it to MA.

I printed the forms and I see the page where the school is requiered to fill in the education. I attended two schools , so I will get from every school my hours and transcripts. Sad is, that the schools were not very cooperative last time and to get it done right I will have to go to Europe.I think I will have a nice business trip*gg*.

Hi there my brother and his wife have applied for ces for ny + visascreen so that they can get an att.

The problem is when they check the website visascreen says they just need nclex pass and everything else is accepted including transcripts. When they check for ces it says waiting for transcripts what can be the problem surley if visascreen is good so should the ces report for ny?

any suggestions welcome thanks in advance

So. Today I called the QM to complain about the fact that they have not send out a report, and it is almost 1 year now. The lady was very friendly and takes care of this, the report will go to N.Y. today which means that they will have it by Monday. Since there are no informations in my file, thez want to make a judgement call. Keep your fingers cross that they will let me sit for the NCLEX ....

I am ready to start Vermont if they do not accept me, but the first option would save me time and money...

Have them phone CGFNS directly. Each of those applicaitons is handled by two entirely separate offices. If you remember there addresses, they were both different, even though they are both under the same corporate structure.
