cgfns prof experience

hello. I'm currently filling out CGFNS application form online, but I'm having a problem regarding the Professional Experience part. I never had any experience to work professionally. I tried putting zero or n/a on the space provided, but it won't accept it. What do i do ? thanks in advance

If doing it online I would think leaving it blank may be enough. Is there any way to leave a comment?

I tried putting in zero on the years of experience but it says:

  • You must specify both a Specialty Area and years.
  • You must specify a years greater than 0 for Other Area.

And there's no way to leave a comment

For me, I just put 1 year (even without work experience) since it doesn't allow you to leave it box blank or put "zero" years. It wasn't a big deal and CGFNS gave me a copy of my CES report issue and forwarded the CES report issue to my state board of nursing.

Hey I still have clarification if you could help me. For the Document Printing, a. i will have to print the photo id card and fill out and send it to CGFNS (3600 Market Street, Suite 400, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19104-2651 U.S.A. ) ? b. for request of academic records, i will send that to the university i graduated and they'll be the one to send it to CGFNS? c. request for validation of license, i will send it to any PRC Office and they too will send it to CGFNS ?

A.) I'm speaking only from my own experience when I applied to New Jersey. I never did

a photo ID card. It wasn't a requirement.

B.) Yes, your request for academic records will be filled out by your school registrar's and

signed by the Dean of Nursing at your school. Be sure they have a school seal,

that's what the CGFNS requires. They will be the ones to mail it to CGFNS. I gave

the school $100 so they can mail it via Fed-EX.

C.) I am totally clueless about PRC. I think that's what you do. But being an American

citizen I was never allowed to take any Philippine licensure exams, even when I

finished my first professional degree (doctor of medicine in the Philippines). I just

wrote a letter to CGFNS that I am legally not allowed to take licensure exams in the

Phils. and they said it was okay, they waived the requirement.

Hopefully this answers all your questions. :) If you have more, just keep asking. I'll do

my best to answer them. I know these things are annoying and causes anxiety to fill out. I am doing another one as well for the CGFNS CVS-NY. I plan on having NJ and NY nursing licenses.

Also, you can call CGFNS headquarters in Philadelphia, PA to ask for more specific questions. Phone number (215) -222-8454. They are extremely helpful and will answer all nursing application questions imaginable. CGFNS office hours are Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm (Eastern Standard Time). Bonne chance!!
