Cerritos College for Fall 2013

Published

Hi guy!!

anyone applying this month for admissions into Fall 2013?

i'm attending the nursing application workshop this week to apply.

did you guys take developmental psychology before you applied?

i have taken pscyhology 101 at a different college, can that count as an alternate?

Congrats!! I wouldn't be able to wait because of my age so I would pick Rio Hondo solely on my circumstances. If, however, age is not a factor in your case, I would pick Cerritos just to cover all bases.

However, I know someone mentioned NLN accreditation. That is a supplemental accreditation. Rio Hondo is accredited by the Board of Nursing which is the most important. When I contacted Azusa Pacific (I plan on continuing to my BSN if I ever get in!), they said that as long as the school is WASC accredited, the units will still transfer over. I guess if you want to play it safe and plan on working outside of California, go with Cerritos. In California, I don't think it really matters...

Just so you know, Pasadena, Citrus and Glendale are not NLN accredited either.

Either way, you're good! :)

Thank you so much for your feedback Jeli42!! I'm late 20's so my age is kind of a factor but not too much. I just want to hurry up and start since I've waited already a year to get into school and start working towards my profession. I keep thinking is 6 months really worth it to go to a better shool? Good luck to you also!! Hopefully you will get in!

dorkiexcici thank you so much for your feedback!!! Congrats also on getting into the Fall!!! That's awesome news! What is the difference with being and not being accreditted NLN? Not familiar with that. As far as the Teas test you will do fine :D They say that whatever score you get on the online test you will score between 10-15% higher on actual test. The online test is a lot harder than the real one. I was the same way with Science. Whenever I felt like I knew everything I needed to know about Science, when I took a practice test it proved me wrong lol Just try to cover as much as you can and take all the practice tests you can. You're right with Math. It's mainly percentages, decimals, and conversion.

Thanks I am soooo nervous to take the teas I started studying yesterday and so nervous ah hopefully she emails me back today I signed up for may 17 230 but she didnt email me back .... Back to studying ?? have to pass it so its offical ! Don't get discouraged everyone I didn't get in my first time everything will happen in time!!!

I agree!! Good luck on your test!

I got my letter in the mail...I didn't get accepted into Cerritos. That's okay, still 6 more schools to hear from...more waiting.

Hey sorry to hear that...you weren't even chosen as an alternate? Well don't worry you will get picked up by someone...don't give up!!! Hang on in there!!!

Not even as an alternate, but I think the fact that Cerritos doesn't have a recency requirement on pre-reqs sort of hurt me because I originally took Anatomy and Physiology 10 years ago and most schools require those courses to be completed in the last 5 years so I retook them and did better than I did 10 years ago and got As...but they still take your first grade...oh well!

Sorry to hear that. They actually go strictly on lottery so your grades don't play a role as long as you meet the minimum requirements. Think of it this way, maybe you just weren't meant to go there. Maybe you were meant to go somewhere else! Stay positive and I hope you get in somewhere! Heck I hope I get in somewhere! Lol. What other schools did you apply to?

Congrats to all! I'm excited too but I have to wait til June to find out how many nursing students will fail for finals in able to have a space for LVNs.

please help! I just received a letter from cerritos to schedule the teas exam but the email they gave me it's not working. Can someone confirm the email?

The email from the mail is [email protected]

Thank you! That's great advice and I agree, it wasn't meant to be there, but I really hope it is meant to be at one of the 6 other schools I am waiting to hear back from for fall. I applied to Pasadena, Pierce, Santa Monica City College, Citrus, Glendale Community College in LA and one out of state, Baptist Health Systems School of Nursing in San Antonio TX.
