Cerritos College for Fall 2013

Published

Hi guy!!

anyone applying this month for admissions into Fall 2013?

i'm attending the nursing application workshop this week to apply.

did you guys take developmental psychology before you applied?

i have taken pscyhology 101 at a different college, can that count as an alternate?

Good luck to everyone for fall. I was curious if anyone know what was the lowest TEAS score that was accepted from the previous term ?

I don't know about the previous term but I know the lowest they take at all is a 62%.

Hello,

How do you set up a day to take the TEAs?Do you have to hae them done before a certain deadline or just when the send you the letter of acceptance?

If you are accepted or an alternate, they'll give you dates to choose from when they send you the letter. I'm an alternate =/ boo. Still hoping for the best though! Btw, in the letter it also says you can turn in your HESI scores instead if you took that test instead of the TEAS. That's what I plan on doing. You need at least a 70% on the HESI and a 62% on the TEAS to be qualified for acceptance.

Hello! I got a letter today saying I'm on the alternate list- #44 though. I don't know exactly what chance I'll have to get into the program. Good luck everyone who applied!

You're so lucky!! I'm wayy farther down the alternate list. Don't wanna get your hopes up but when I emailed Luanne to schedule the TEAS, she said that they went through 150 from their alternate list last semester... Of course this term is different but you never know! You have a better chance than me. Good luck to us!! Haha.

hi everyone!!! i got a letter today from cerritos telling me i was selected as an alternate for the fall 2013 or spring 2014 semester and my alternate number is 88...does anyone know what this means? will i even get in? what are my chances? please advise ....thank you and i appreciate everyone's responses...

I'm right near you as an alternate!! #80. Good luck to us!! :) At least we still have a chance. The lady I emailed to take the TEAS said they went through 150 of their alternate list last semester. Don't wanna get your hopes up but we still have a sliver of hope!! Haha.

Hi. Congrats to those that got onto the alternate list. I got my letter in the mail today. I got accepted into the Spring 2014 term! I'm excited as anyone would be. I have a dilemma. I got into Cerritos College for the Spring 2014 and also into the Rio Hondo Summer 2013 term. I torn between which school I should choose. If anyone has some advice for me that would greatly be appreciated!!! Cerritos was my first choice of course because they are well known and is closer to me. Im torn because I don't know if I should wait another 6 months, after waiting a while to get in, for Cerritos, or go to Rio Hondo because I can start earlier and finish faster. Please help!!

Congrats!!!!!! I definitely recommend Cerritos. They are NLN accredited. Rio Hondo is not.

Thank you fionas32,

I appreciate your feedback on the TEAS. I just took the assessment A today. I got a 62%. Oh man, that was pretty horrible. I felt like I was in a train wreck taking that test. I scheduled to take my test on May 17th at 2:30pm. Science was a joke for me. I did terrible in scientific reasoning and life science. For math, it was percentages and conversions. The next 3 1/2 weeks will be consumed with studying and praying for a miracle. I pretty much told my family and boyfriend and his family to all pray for me to PASS. :blackeye:

Congrats!! I wouldn't be able to wait because of my age so I would pick Rio Hondo solely on my circumstances. If, however, age is not a factor in your case, I would pick Cerritos just to cover all bases.

However, I know someone mentioned NLN accreditation. That is a supplemental accreditation. Rio Hondo is accredited by the Board of Nursing which is the most important. When I contacted Azusa Pacific (I plan on continuing to my BSN if I ever get in!), they said that as long as the school is WASC accredited, the units will still transfer over. I guess if you want to play it safe and plan on working outside of California, go with Cerritos. In California, I don't think it really matters...

Just so you know, Pasadena, Citrus and Glendale are not NLN accredited either.

Either way, you're good! :)

Congrats!! It says in the letter you can turn in your HESI scores :) I scheduled to take the TEAS anyway since I'm only an alternate and will need it for other schools. I would confirm with Cerritos but that's what it says on my letter. Maybe yours is different because you actually got in.
