I received my letter yesterday that I am in for the Fall '09 or Spring '10 class!
I am taking the TEAS on the 17th. They do a randomized lottery and haven't revealed the order of our places (which decide the class). It was the last of 5 ADN community college programs I've applied to and got it on the first chance drawing. Weird, but I'll take it! It would be nice to get picked in the Golden West or Saddleback (my A&P Cs killed me for a straight GPA shot there) lotteries because they are a LOT closer to me with much nicer clinical sites, but I will take what I can get since it's only a means to the end!
Anyone else hear from Cerritos?
(posted here since this seems to be the place to celebrate and query acceptances versus the state forum)
Ok so I to am waiting to hear back from cerritos... I took the test and passed so i thought that after the 6th we would hear some news back... so today after receiving no mail from cerritos I called... the lady in the office told me that it would take a couple of weeks to gather all the testing info... so I guess don't expect to hear anything for another 3 weeks... I know that sucks to hear I was really bummed when I found this out... good luck to everyone... if anyone hears or gets anything keep us posted. thanks
so i applied at cerritos for fall'10 cohort and was told in May that i did not get in. luckily, another college that I applied to accepted me for their fall'10 RN program and was informed of my acceptance 2nd week of april so i didn't really care for my cerritos app. i know that some of you have been waiting to hear from the school and i pray that all of you will get in too!!
good luck to everyone who are starting the program this fall!! wohooo!!!
hi nivlac31
first, congrats on getting accepted to a RN program for the Fall10. I guess they randomly drew names and you were not selected to take the TEAS. anyhow, I think the lottery system is just based on luck and not grades.
I guess for those who have not received a letter yet means we still stand a chance. lolz!!
hey tokidokifantasy! i so agree with you re: "the lottery system is just based on luck and not grades." i think as long as you meet the requirements (i.e., gpa 2.5 or above) you will be included in that pool for the lottery. so you can have a high gpa and not picked and a lower gpa and was lucky to get picked. :)
actually, i called the nursing department about 3 weeks ago...curious to know if i am selected. the lady said i was number 300 and denial letters will be mailed in the next few weeks. i would suggest you call the office and find out. anyways, good luck to you and i hope that everyone in this thread will get in!! :)
