Cerritos College, CA

Published

I received my letter yesterday that I am in for the Fall '09 or Spring '10 class! :yeah:

I am taking the TEAS on the 17th. They do a randomized lottery and haven't revealed the order of our places (which decide the class). It was the last of 5 ADN community college programs I've applied to and got it on the first chance drawing. Weird, but I'll take it! It would be nice to get picked in the Golden West or Saddleback (my A&P Cs killed me for a straight GPA shot there) lotteries because they are a LOT closer to me with much nicer clinical sites, but I will take what I can get since it's only a means to the end!

Anyone else hear from Cerritos?

Thank you :) In order to make it to the Fall class I figure since the top 50 made it in and I'm #72, I need 22 students to bail on their seat. The proctor didn't imagine that scenario happening. I'd love for that to happen, but since I am a midwife with babies due in the Fall I am happy to make some money before my life completely changes!

I knew my rank going into the test because I called and asked, but I did see it written next to my name when I went to her with my test score. Knowing I was IN pending the passing test score made it all the more stressful to take it!!

I called in to ask for my rank and the lady at the health occupations office told me that they sent out a whole bunch of letters today, so hopefully we'll find out our ranks soon!!

Does anyone here know about this ADN program? Or know of someone currently in the program? What have you heard?

Did you get a letter? Tomorrow is orientation for the program and I haven't received anything other than the letter I was given at the TEAS test.

I've heard nothing about it. It has a fair passing rate according to the CA BRN site, it's within driving distance, and I got picked in the lottery on my first time in their once-a-year application... it's about all I need to know :lol2:

Actually, I haven't received anything yet either. Maybe she meant they sent out letters to people who weren't chosen for the lottery. I guess we'll just have to see at the orientation tomorrow.

I am new here but congrats! I may apply there...also to Goldenwest. Not until next year though. Where are their clinicals?

I thought I'd add to this thread by saying I talked with Luanne @ Cerritos the week before last and she said that the Spring '10 class will start to hear from them around October and then there will be a new orientation for that class. Sigh.
