CEP Feb. Applicants

Published

Hi all! Anyone else applying for the CEP program through Maricopa Community College during this upcoming application cycle? I'm applying for the GCC/NAU program and was curious if anyone else is applying this semester as well. I'm hoping I make the cutoff - the program is becoming really popular really fast!

I had my AGEC completed with my Associates in Arts.

Same here.

Has anyone got accepted but it was not their first choice, ie got weekends but wanted traditional? Do you think there is a possibility to swap?

You should call them and see if you can change.

I called gcc and the lady told me that a lot of people were calling and complaining because they didn't necessarily get their first choices. She also told me that this year they placed you based on where you live or your zip code (which ever college was closer to your home address). I know personally for me I wanted GCC first I have a 4.0 with a previous degree and a 96 hesi and I did not get GCC.

I'm glad you got your acceptance, sorry it wasn't your first choice that is weird. Will they change it for you? I would ask. You grades are so good too.

I'm not sure thats true about placing based on zip code, at least it isn't the case for me. I was placed at Gateway(my first choice, because of the evening program) but I live closer to both chandler gilbert cc and mesa cc.

They will not change it I called she ended up telling me to call the director because everyone was complaining and as far as zip code it was based on whether you chose west then they placed you based on where you live. Previously you could rank each school individually and not in the category of east west central phoenix like they did this year.

I see what you mean. You have great scores. I'm sorry you didn't get your choice, hopefully the director will be more helpful.

I'm just bummed because truly only one program worked for my life (weekends). I'm a mom and have a full-time job. But I am optimistic that somehow I will work it out. Has anyone been able to find out specifics about what days and hours the ECC program is?

What is the ECC program? Is that for Estrella?

I'm sure we will find out everything we need to know at orientation. Have you tried calling the director to see if you could switch?
