Cedars-Sinai New Grad Summer 2013

Just thought it would be helpful to post a new thread for the upcoming new grad program starting this summer. I've seen the thread for the program last year and wanted to see if anyone was one of the first 250 who applied for it this year. I applied for cohort #1 and got a phone interview last week and the gentleman said that I'd receive an e-mail within 1-2 weeks. I've also heard of people getting rejection emails as well without a phone interview. Anyone have additional info they'd like to share? Good luck to all us new grads out there!

When the last app for cohort 3 went up there was no info of a cohort 4, so I'm not sure if they will still have one, but this was the original info included when they put up the info for cohort 1...

-Cohort #4: September 30, 2013 – application date July 24, 2013

License needed by August 15, 2013

I did an internship at Cedars and live in the gorgeous area of Studio City at Aqua Vista & Vineland. It's safe, affordable, and surrounded by trees and cute downtown areas. It's 15-20 minutes to Cedars. I would highly recommend going a away from the West Hollywood and Beverley Hills for price alone.

Sherman Oaks and Toluca Lake are lovely too! (But be prepared to pay a bit more for the latter!)

I also love Studio. I personally do not mind traffic going over the hill from the valley, but people have different traffic tolerances. Ktown has its charms as well (Anthony Bourdain did a tv segment on it not too long ago!). There are good and bad areas in every city. Just takes some research to figure out the good :). I find the city-data forums to be very useful when looking up neighborhoods. Good luck to you all!

Got a phone interview by a gentleman for cohort 3 also. Why Cedars, why you, what makes a good employee, conflict resolution and what customer service means to nurses.

Yesterday I missed a call and a message from Cedars for a phone interview at around 1:30 (I was in the shower:wideyed: ). The recruiter said to call back and leave ONE message and he will get back to me as soon as he can...So, I did that.

Well it is now 3:45pm on Friday and I haven't heard back. I am afraid to go into the weekend without talking to them...Should I leave a second message or just leave the ONE????

During the cohort 2 phone interview phrase I missed the initial call and played phone tag with them for several days also. They won't forget about you and will call back!

You can also just call back a lot of times but not leave messages if they don't pick up...I did that when I was trying to catch the recruiter and got lucky eventually. I don't know if they ever noticed that they had a lot of missed calls from my number, but I eventually got hired so it didn't hurt my chances too much :)

Yeah just call back a lot without any messages. That's what I did and I got hired too. They called on a Friday at 3:30p and I thought the same thing about not wanting to go through the weekend not talking to them. Good luck!
