Cedars-Sinai New Grad Summer 2013

Just thought it would be helpful to post a new thread for the upcoming new grad program starting this summer. I've seen the thread for the program last year and wanted to see if anyone was one of the first 250 who applied for it this year. I applied for cohort #1 and got a phone interview last week and the gentleman said that I'd receive an e-mail within 1-2 weeks. I've also heard of people getting rejection emails as well without a phone interview. Anyone have additional info they'd like to share? Good luck to all us new grads out there!

I answered all their questions but honestly, idk how I feel. Now the waiting begins. I was told that there were 50 of us today, and they are ultimately going to chose 25 after the next/last interview.

Thanks Summer Zucchini....I feel my interview went well...I was told 60 and 25... But hey those are still pretty good odds. I think they did a great job at creating an inviting atmosphere, which helped with the nerves! So, back to the waiting game. Good luck to us all! :cat:

Has anyone in cohort 2 heard anything after completing the drug screen and reference check/application? Good luck to all applying for cohort 3!!

Has anyone in cohort 2 heard anything after completing the drug screen and reference check/application? Good luck to all applying for cohort 3!!

I haven't heard anything from Cedars yet. So far I finished the drug test and live signed release form for the background check. I really hope they schedule our physical soon. I can't wait to start working! To those going in for the open house, good luck!

@zombmurse when did you get something for the live signed release form for the background check? Was it email or was it at the end of the job application?

cohort 2: I've completed the reference check, background check, and drug screen. It sounds like we are all in the same boat.

I think I must have checked the box requesting a free copy of my background check, because I got a copy in the mail this weekend. So I am assuming cedars has it and am just waiting for the next steps!

Anyone know if we get our official offer letter/contract before or after our physical and 2 step tb test? Just wondering because I am relocating and trying to find housing. It's rather hard to sign a lease without proof of income! Thanks.

You sign the contract the same day as your physical...you have an HR appt one hour prior to your physical appt
