Cedars Sinai New Grad RN Residency Fall 2022

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone! I know it's early and this cohort's application won't be available until August 8th (license needed before then, interviews September 14th and 15th), but in case anyone is like me graduating in May and taking the NCLEX in June who aren't eligible for the earlier application rounds, I thought it would be nice to start a thread for us.

I was reading the new grad residency page and it looks like we will all be assigned to med/surg for a full year and can only apply for specialty units at the end of the one year mark after completing the residency program. Reading through past threads for other cohorts, this seems to be a different arrangement than others have experienced, possibly due to COVID.

I personally don't love that structure but Cedars Sinai really is an amazing place and opportunity. What do y'all think? Are you applying elsewhere also?

Just for my offer email as well to 6S Advanced Heart Failure!

Congratulations to everyone that an offer ?

Question… so nobody has gotten the offer letter right? For me it’s just an email saying “congratulations to being accepted”.. I just want to make sure this wasn’t a mistake LOL

Hii I got a position in the OR and I am planning on accepting the position

Apartment hunting is pretty hard since I am not familiar with the environment and rent prices are high. Hoping to live with people who are also going to join the cohort! Is anyone going to make a FB group for this new cohort?

Has anyone gotten their offer email yet?

Yeah they had said that they would be sending out responses on September 19th or 20th. So don’t lose hope!(:

If you go to your application page, you should see a new job description for the unit you are being hired to. It will also tell you if you are days/nights.

If you got the email, then you got the position. The official offer letter is a formality at this point.

Ah I see it now! Thank you!! Did anyone get a day shift or it’s all night shifts for new grads?

My interviewers mentioned that all new grad positions are night shift, but that could just be applicable to that specific unit (surgical neuro/spine).
