Cedars Sinai New Grad RN Residency Fall 2022

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone! I know it's early and this cohort's application won't be available until August 8th (license needed before then, interviews September 14th and 15th), but in case anyone is like me graduating in May and taking the NCLEX in June who aren't eligible for the earlier application rounds, I thought it would be nice to start a thread for us.

I was reading the new grad residency page and it looks like we will all be assigned to med/surg for a full year and can only apply for specialty units at the end of the one year mark after completing the residency program. Reading through past threads for other cohorts, this seems to be a different arrangement than others have experienced, possibly due to COVID.

I personally don't love that structure but Cedars Sinai really is an amazing place and opportunity. What do y'all think? Are you applying elsewhere also?

Ah I see it now! Thank you!! Did anyone get a day shift or it’s all night shifts for new grads?

I think default for all new grads is night shift, but each unit can make a call later on depending on the needs of the unit. I have a friend who was on night shift for the precepted shifts, and then moved to day shift after she was done. It's probably a case-by-case situation

Question… so nobody has gotten the offer letter right? For me it’s just an email saying “congratulations to being accepted”.. I just want to make sure this wasn’t a mistake LOL

I got my official offer letter today!

I asked Aramik and he confirmed it doesn't include the night diff which is $7 and weekends is $9

Ahhh awesome! Thanks for checking!!

Does everyone here have a PALS certification? HR email is asking for ACLS and PALS and I wasn’t aware it’s a requirement…

Nvm HR confirmed it’s not required!
