Hey, I saw this message in an email from allnurses and thought id respond bc I'm actually the only new grad left from our cohort on 8n neurosurgery. The other two nurses left at the very beginning for other jobs. One of them said they didn't like neuro patients that much so don't let them leaving deter you. Honestly the interview was pretty easy, I don't remember a ton of it bc I was so nervous, but management is pretty nice. They might ask why you want to work neuro, and then a couple clinical questions like I remember they asked me what I would be monitoring for after giving lasix which I thought was random. They might ask you about safety and falls and pressure injuries are a big thing on our unit (like a concern I mean bc people are immobile and confused). so just think of a couple things you can do to prevent those and they'll be so happy. The unit is super cool, everyone's really nice and helpful. I haven't met one person who's made me feel bad for asking them for help. There's two halves of the unit 8ne and 8nw. They're nice on both sides. I'm pretty sure management just decides which side you'll work on mostly based on their staffing needs. I'm not sure about other floors in comparison bc I've only floated once and it was just to 8nw from 8ne but our unit is higher acuity than most med/surg units, so it gets pretty busy even at night, but everyone's so helpful it makes it better. My interviewers mentioned that all new grad positions are night shift, but that could just be applicable to that specific unit (surgical neuro/spine).

Yeah they had said that they would be sending out responses on September 19th or 20th. So don’t lose hope!(:
