Hi i am currently a nursing student in Buffalo, NY well 'PRE' NURSING i applied to the program which only comes once a year so i applied for the fall of 07, and they can't evaluate my pre req's til the end of the spring semester, the advisor basically told me after my grades and pre req's are evaluated i have to hope that some people have dropped out, if there are not enough openings i have to sit on my tail and wait til next year to apply and i have no other courses to take in the meantime unless they're approved by the nursing department without being admitted into the program. Is there a similar situation going on at CCSN? If i wait til janurary to be admitted fine, i just don't wanna wait another year. Thanks! any help!
CCSN double their admissions?! I don't see how they can do that without aggressively hiring more instructors (ranked #1 on nevada's endangered species list!). Someone earlier in the thread asked about Touro. It is roughly $14000 per year for a 2 year ELM program.Dee
Thats where I am confused -- if CCSN were to double their admissions, they would to seriously hire a ton more instructors and I am unsure if they even have the classroom space available.
I heard last year that the state of Nevada was awarding grants to all of the accredited colleges/universities that award an ADN or BSN in order to double enrollment by a certain year. I heard that from another student though, so I am unsure of how accurate that is.

Where did you hear about that, or read it? I had heard about it last year from another student, but I've never been able to find anything online that states that.
