CCSF Spring 2019 Admissions

Nursing Students School Programs

Just wondering if anyone has heard yet from CCSF for Spring 2019? I've read the other posts from the previous year, and supposedly people began getting their letters around this week. I have yet to hear from them. I also tried calling but keep getting the voicemail. Just curious if anyone has received their letters yet. Thank you!

Thank you, Tyler and Tina! Can you tell me when the official start date is? I found the student handbook online; that answered many of my questions regarding the classes we are taking on the first semester including clinical hours, etc. We are looking to move closer to CCSF as my commute would take 2 hours each way. I'm curious to know how much time I have to house-hunt.

I got your PM, Tina. Unfortunately, I can't PM back because I need to be more active on this site (or something along those lines) in order to have that privilege. Lol

Thats okay! Hopefully we can answer your questions! I believe the start date is January 14 as listed in web4, which is the start of all classes for the spring semester. Do you know if we can choose our clinical hours/location, or if it's based on your lab section since there are 4 different ones? Moving would be a good idea; 2 hours each is a lot of time to spend in the car imho.

Hi all, I am also a 2019 spring student in ccsf nursing. Did you all finish the background check of the castlebranch? I found that although my background check was done for quite a long time, unlike drug test and clinical requirement, there is no Green check under this item. there is only a View result button here.

just want to check with you that it is normal for this result.....

Thanks

My background check appeared the same way on my to do list, so I think you're good. I drank too much water for my drug screening though and my results came back as 'dilute negative.' I remember they said if our results were dilute that we would need to redo the test, but I called castle branch and they said my results would be accepted. Has anyone else had the same problem? I've tried getting in touch with CCSF and nobody is getting back to me...

thanks TS90 for your reply. Anyway, I suggested to get contacted to CCSF soon, because I remembered someone said you have one chance to pay to do it again if you are diluted negative in the orientation. you may want to contact Debra Mendes Giusto, Chair Registered Nursing Program. I believe she is the right person to contact.

Good luck! that is not a big deal, do not worry and just redo it and do not drink.

Hi guys! I know this thread is a little older but I wanted to ask a question about orientation for those who got accepted...Is orientation mandatory? Or do you know what accommodations they make for out-of-state acceptances? Thanks ?

Yes, orientation for us was mandatory. I am not sure if they would make accommodations for out-of-state applicants or not, but I do remember them saying that we would be forfeit our spot if we did not show up. There's lots of info they go over during orientation, so I can see why they wouldn't want us missing it. I am sure you are not the only out-of-state applicant they have had, however. I would just give them a call and see if they can make exceptions to this rule.

Hi, I know this thread is old but I just wanted to ask what date your orientation was? I applied to Spring 2020 and I have a vacation coming up and I wanted to know if the dates conflict.

I believe it was on or around December 12th.
