CCSF RN Spring 2016 Lottery

Published

Hi all-

I made this thread for everyone hoping to get into CCSF's spring 2016 RN program, so we can keep each other updated.

This would be my 4th attempt in getting into the program since I finished my prereqs and gen ed in 2011, got my LVN license in 2013 because after my first 2 failed attempts, I figured I might as well get my LVN while waiting to get into the RN program.

I submitted my application in person today because I was told I'd be put in two different lottery pools (one for regular enrollment and one for advanced placement for lvns) which could increase my chances of getting in, and needed to have my license verified in person. This would be my first time applying for the advanced placement, because I'd rather not skip a sem so I can benefit from taking the courses to refresh my memory. Are there any of you fellow lvns who've tried applying through both the regular enrollment and the Advanced placement, and can tell me about their experience/how the process works?

I was also told the reason why they won't be posting results online ever anymore is due to HIPAA or privacy of the applicants/future students, which is very much understandable. We should expect to hear back for results November or December! And so the waiting game begins..Good luck to us all! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

What did you think of the teas if you don't mind me asking? I've never taken it but I can't imagine someone who has passed their pre reqs with grades higher than Cs not being able to pass with a score greater than 62, especially if they've studied any.

I've already taken the teas as well. Make sure you know your science! I'd have to say that is the hardest part. If you use the ATI teas study guide it goes over all the topics on there.

Congrats to all that got accepted and who are in stand by! As far as the teas, I agree, science was the most challenging for me. I suggest using the ATI manual and taking the online practice test. Good luck!

like what they said, the science part was hard. Also the exam was timed. you cant take breaks while taking the exam. you should do fine with your TEAS. I didn't study but I was able to score greater than 62%. Best of Luck!

I got my letter today too and didn't get in my 2nd try. :(

I didn't get in my 2nd try either . Congrats to everyone who did!

Last semester my number was in the 30s and I was literally the next person they would have called! Stay hopeful I think you have a great shot! Good luck!

Wow 30s? That gives me hope :) did you make it in this semester?

Yes i received a conditional acceptance this semester.

Haven't seen any updates on here in a few days... anyone else get in? Is it correct that students had until the 10th to let ccsf know they'd be attending?

Hi everyone:)

Has anyone been accepted to CCSF's rn program for spring 2016? Where are you all commuting from? Do you already live in the city? Anyone from the east bay area? Thank you for the info.

Yes I have been and I will be commuting from contra Costa
