CCSF RN Spring 2016 Lottery

Published

Hi all-

I made this thread for everyone hoping to get into CCSF's spring 2016 RN program, so we can keep each other updated.

This would be my 4th attempt in getting into the program since I finished my prereqs and gen ed in 2011, got my LVN license in 2013 because after my first 2 failed attempts, I figured I might as well get my LVN while waiting to get into the RN program.

I submitted my application in person today because I was told I'd be put in two different lottery pools (one for regular enrollment and one for advanced placement for lvns) which could increase my chances of getting in, and needed to have my license verified in person. This would be my first time applying for the advanced placement, because I'd rather not skip a sem so I can benefit from taking the courses to refresh my memory. Are there any of you fellow lvns who've tried applying through both the regular enrollment and the Advanced placement, and can tell me about their experience/how the process works?

I was also told the reason why they won't be posting results online ever anymore is due to HIPAA or privacy of the applicants/future students, which is very much understandable. We should expect to hear back for results November or December! And so the waiting game begins..Good luck to us all! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Hello, this was my first time applying and it says that i am on the standby list as well and i must send in my TEAS score by November 24th. I tried calling them this morning to have them explain the meaning of being an applicant standby and maybe get a number of where i stand on the list. I hope we have a good chance!

Hi anyone taking the advanced placement test on November for lvn

good luck everyone

That's awesome you guys are on the stand by list. I called today and they said they sent out all the letters yesterday. So good luck to everyone and I'll be crossing my fingers and anxiously waiting for that mail.

I'm number 22 on the standby list and the guy said they would usually on average only take up to 14 people on the waitlist. I doubt I'll make it in

You have a pretty good chance! When did you get your letter?

are you sure? how so? I received mine yesterday!

They applicants who were chosen must respond by November 10 I was informed when I called!

Not everyone who got accepted or on the stand by list is going to acceptance some still have to pass the teas. So that would just move you up the list. I'm curious, anyone got an acceptance letter can kindly respond. I checked my mail this afternoon and I didn't get anything :-(

Hi, I've been following for awhile. I received my acceptance letter Monday!

Hi! Everyone, its my first time posting here but I got my letter a few days ago and I am on "conditional enrollment" I just need to accept their offer by nov 10 and turn in the result of my TEAS. It took me 3 tries(or maybe 4) to get into the program. So best of luck to everybody waiting. Also A friend of mine was on #25 on the waiting list a few semesters ago and he was able to get it.

wow congrats! and thanks for letting me know I'll hope for the best!

Congrats to those who got in! But I'm hoping more than 14 people will decline since I'm on standby too lol. Even if more than 14 drop that's already over one third of the class :/ I don't like those odds but I'm hopeful! The office made it sound like less people drop the spring semester due to it being such a short time frame whereas those who apply for fall have a lot more time to make decisions and whatnot >__
