Hi all-
I made this thread for everyone hoping to get into CCSF's spring 2016 RN program, so we can keep each other updated.
This would be my 4th attempt in getting into the program since I finished my prereqs and gen ed in 2011, got my LVN license in 2013 because after my first 2 failed attempts, I figured I might as well get my LVN while waiting to get into the RN program.
I submitted my application in person today because I was told I'd be put in two different lottery pools (one for regular enrollment and one for advanced placement for lvns) which could increase my chances of getting in, and needed to have my license verified in person. This would be my first time applying for the advanced placement, because I'd rather not skip a sem so I can benefit from taking the courses to refresh my memory. Are there any of you fellow lvns who've tried applying through both the regular enrollment and the Advanced placement, and can tell me about their experience/how the process works?
I was also told the reason why they won't be posting results online ever anymore is due to HIPAA or privacy of the applicants/future students, which is very much understandable. We should expect to hear back for results November or December! And so the waiting game begins..Good luck to us all! ðŸ™ðŸ»ðŸ™ðŸ»ðŸ™ðŸ»
Hi all-
I received the letter from CCSF today stating they carefully reviewed my application but couldn't admit me due to my gpa, I will be calling them on Monday to get a breakdown of how they came up with a 2.43 gpa, I have an A in English, B for micro, and Cs for Anatomy and Physiology taken separately. I wish they miscalculated in error 😔
Hi all-
I received the letter from CCSF today stating they carefully reviewed my application but couldn't admit me due to my gpa, I will be calling them on Monday to get a breakdown of how they came up with a 2.43 gpa, I have an A in English (3 units), B for micro, (4 units), C for Anatomy (4 units) and C for Physiology (5 units)= 2.63 gpa. I wish they miscalculated in error í ½í¸”
I have no idea honestly since I've never made it this far before lol. They've invited me to take the TEAS at CCSF so I'm guessing (and hoping) my name is pretty close after 50 as an alternate in case the first 50 don't progress. I'll have to call tomorrow though and find out what that means and my spot on the list hopefully! Does anyone know what it means to be in the first 50 slots? Did the RN department actually review these applicants' transcripts and they qualify and are in as long as they pass the TEAS/background or were they just the first 50 names picked and still need to get their pre-reqs evaluated? Another question I'll be asking when I call tomorrow.
