  1. I did, they calculated based on my English 100 (I got a B) instead of my English 110 ( which is a higher level English I got an A on) My anatomy will be expiring by fall so I can technically reapply after I retake..but I've moved on and decided to go for the LVN-RN bridge at Unitek College instead..It's a lot of $$$ but I realized it will only take me 8 months instead of 2 years, I'd be losing the same or more amount of $$$ not being able to work FT for 2 yrs..Wishing you good luck :)
  2. Hi all- I received the letter from CCSF today stating they carefully reviewed my application but couldn't admit me due to my gpa, I will be calling them on Monday to get a breakdown of how they came up with a 2.43 gpa, I have an A in English (3 units), B for micro, (4 units), C for Anatomy (4 units) and C for Physiology (5 units)= 2.63 gpa. I wish they miscalculated in error í ½í¸”

  4. Will definitely do, I was told we should get the letters by oct or nov..sounds about right since I got the denial letter 2 months after the application deadline last sem..
  5. Great thanks for the tip:) so the testing itself will also be online or do I need to go to an ATI testing center? We used ATI for my LVN program and I used their comprehensive book to study for the nclex as well:)
  6. Great, thanks for the info! did you buy the book to study prior to testing?
  7. Hi _Sunshine:) there's an option to take teas prior to getting in? Can you give us more info?
  8. They put the applicants' names in a pool and let their computer system generate a random numerical order, the first 50 names are reviewed and if any of those first 50 are somehow not qualified for any reason, they keep going down the list..last sem there were 400+ applicants, it's really all about getting lucky in getting placed on the first 50 list..
  9. On the last thread they mentioned close to 400 applied last sem, hopefully way less this sem í ½í¹í ¼í¿»
  10. That's perfect you'll def save $ that way+ you can check your ranking from last sem since you're around the campus a lot..I'm hoping I can get my ASN then pursue asn-msn then msn-np at usf..that's a long ways from now..just taking it 1 step at a time..hope we both get in next sem:)
  11. They still keep the results in their office, I made sure I asked when I went to get my license verified..it's just nice to knowí ½í¸Š where did you take your prereqs at?
  12. Thank you, definitely hope so too. Not sure about how many applicants there are so far..but I'm definitely hoping there's less than last sem, I was #202 on the results..not even close did you find out your ranking last time you applied?
  13. Yes, they only review the first 50 people on the lottery results 😔 Unfortunately, I can't apply to other schools bc they have a min 2.50 gpa for sciences which I don't have..I wasn't aware of that rule at the time I was taking my prereqs and only settled with passing the sciences with two C's and a B..my only option is CCSF since they include English with Sciences' gpa.. I considered taking an 8-month lvn-rn accelerated course but it was at a private college for $50k+..I just can't justify having to pay that much so here I am 4 years later after completing my A.S. still waiting to get in 😔 Have you tried CSM too? I heard they're merit-based and not lottery anymore?
  14. I've heard there are some that gets in on their first try 👍🏻 Good luck to you as well ☺️
  15. Hi all- I made this thread for everyone hoping to get into CCSF's spring 2016 RN program, so we can keep each other updated. This would be my 4th attempt in getting into the program since I finished my prereqs and gen ed in 2011, got my LVN license in 2013 because after my first 2 failed attempts, I figured I might as well get my LVN while waiting to get into the RN program. I submitted my application in person today because I was told I'd be put in two different lottery pools (one for regular enrollment and one for advanced placement for lvns) which could increase my chances of getting in, and needed to have my license verified in person. This would be my first time applying for the advanced placement, because I'd rather not skip a sem so I can benefit from taking the courses to refresh my memory. Are there any of you fellow lvns who've tried applying through both the regular enrollment and the Advanced placement, and can tell me about their experience/how the process works? I was also told the reason why they won't be posting results online ever anymore is due to HIPAA or privacy of the applicants/future students, which is very much understandable. We should expect to hear back for results November or December! And so the waiting game begins..Good luck to us all! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
