I'm taking the CCRN-Pediatric Tuesday, have just completed the AACN online review course and will be studying all weekend.
Any of you who have passed this exam -advice? Things to concentrate on?
(The PICU I work in does pretty much everything except trauma and transplants.)
Well, despite the underwhelming response :) I passed the exam.
My advice would be to take the AACN online review, make sure you understand your lab values esp. as they apply to disease process. (duh) BE SURE to pay attention to the phrase 'as a nurse' as in "What would be your first action as a nurse" relative to a situation. The test-taking strategies part of the exam prep was vital.
So now I get to sign my name Mary MSN, RN, CCRN
Oh, and I'll be getting a raise.

Congratulations! I want to take mine this year. Sadly, we don't get raises for education or having more training (CRRT, ECMO). Very lame. Thank you for the advice!
