CCRI nursing fall 2016 evening program

Published

Hi to all,

Hopefully we can start this thread with people who are thinking or going to apply to the fall 2016 evening program at CCRI.

When is everyone thinking of taking the HESI and what does everyone think of the new requirements and what that is going to mean for total points needed to get accepted into the program now?

Does anyone know how many applicants actually get accepted into Newport and Lincoln campus?

Hi all..Now that the semester is over I'm really nervous about what the point ranges are going to be.

So happy I came across this post! I am planning on applying to Lincoln in February for evenings as well. I have just finished up all pre-req's and taking the HESI Jan 13. Very nervous about applying and how the new requirements will come into play in the process. Good luck to all of you!

So I'm applying in February for the night program (either campus), and I'm so nervous! I'm taking the HESI next month, but I feel like I have absolutely no idea whether I have a chance at being accepted or not. Since the requirements are so different now, no one can really say whether the amount of points you have is close to the "norm" for acceptance. I have a 3.5 GPA, and A in anatomy, A- in comp and unfortunately a B in general psych from taking it a few years back. Altogether I only have 142 points before the HESI. I've been told that a B is probably not good enough :( How depressing!

Hi everyone! I'm applying in February too. I have a total of 171 points and I'm a little nervous :/

I don't have a specific campus or program can do days or evenings, applying with 179.8 points. Got a B- in anatomy and bc I attempted and withdrew 13 years ago this counted as my second and final attempt. So I can't even take again for a chance at a higher grade for more points. Fingers crossed and hoping for the best. [emoji52]

Hi Everyone! I'm applying in February with 191 points. I'm nervous too because of how competitive it is with everyone being able to take all the pre-reqs in one semester. I received all A's in Comp, Psych and Anatomy but I have a previous degree that accrued 86 credits from 8 years ago that makes it very hard to budge my gpa. So I'm stuck with a 3.3, I hate to whine but these new rules that include overall gpa stink. I don't think it's ok to hold my gpa of 109 credits, that includes physics and calculus, and compare it to someone with 10 basic credits, But I don't make the rules. I'll just cross my fingers! If it helps anyone I do know that 168.2 was the lowest score accepted at any campus last semester.

Hello everyone.I followed this forum last semester but never signed up. It was helpful though and made me feel not so alone in this process. I applied to the spring 2016 program with the old requirements and didn't get in. I had 158 points. This round I have 174.6, but I'm thinking of retaking the HESI to bring it up a little more if I can. I'm so nervous. Does anyone know how many seats are available? I feel like it's going to be more competitve this time seeing as the pre reqs are fewer and easier. Good luck to everyone!

I'm applying in Feb too. Have 181.8 points. Got 35 on the hesi. Thinking of doing it again. Have a B in anatomy.

Does anyone know when they send out the emails saying if you have been accepted or not?? I know it is still really early to be talking about it but I am thinking sometime in March????or April????

I know it's soon to be thinking about it but it's all I can think about.

I looked on the ccri website application planner and it says March.

I finally took the HESI last week, I ended up with 190.8 points total. I am getting super nervous/excited! As far as when we might find out about acceptance, I looked back at the allnurses thread for the CCRI August application period and it looks like emails were sent on Sept. 24 for those who applied in August. So less than a month from the end of the application period- that's not bad! Although I will be on pins and needles the whole time.
