I'm thinking about taking Micro with ccconline for spring session 1. Does anyone here have any experience with ccconline's micro course? Any suggestions regarding the class?
Also, if you have taken the class and still have the syllabus, could someone email it to me? I just want to make sure this is a distance class I could handle in regards to workload.
Thanks,
Marci

Hi Marci,
I just took Micro last semester at CCConline and it is a great class. definately doable online. I don't have the syllabus anymore so I can't help you there but I would tell you that I am not that strong in the sciences and I got a B in the class! any other questions please let me know!

How exactly do the labs work? I know you have to buy a lab kit from athomescience.com, but do you do a lab manual, write lab reports, what? I took A&P I and II online, but we only used lab software.
How were the tests? Did you feel as though you were given enough time to do them online?
there is a lab manual included in the lab kit. be sure and read all the directions for the labs before you start them..that tripped me up a couple of times. We did 5 lab reports you can pm me about those.
I felt like there was plenty of time to do the tests, 2 hours on the big tests. good postings as well. If you can try to get Aarthi Ramesh for your teacher she was the best. Because of a misunderstanding I started almost 4 weeks late and I was still able to finish a week early and pull a B.
anything else let me know! Good luck!

I had Kathy Allshouse as a teacher and she was good too. I totally think the class was worth the money. Micro in my school would have taken 8 hours a week in class.. much better at home.

I took micro through CCD during fall 05 and it was a good experience. The labs were pretty time consuming and you really need to plan ahead to make sure you have enough time to complete them, but as long as you can stay on top of the labs you should be fine! I wound up with an A!

How much is this class and does EC accept it?
The class tuition is $900. Then you have to purchase the lab kit and the book, I'm not sure how much those are yet, haven't gotten that far.
