Ccc nursing program: Fall 2013 City of Chicago

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hey Guys/Girls,

I thought I would start a thread for those of us who have applied for the Fall 2013 Nursing Program at the City Colleges of Chicago. Please post if you have any info on when acceptance letter/email will be sent. I think this will be helpful for applicants as far as how the acceptance process is coming along as well as support through the waiting period.

Hope to hear from you all soon!

Thats a long time. I ordered mines on the 20th of June and it came back the 24th. Did you go through Certified Background?

Yes! The same people I used in January. I have not ever been in any trouble!!! Don't know what I should do....

When I talked to the lady at certified background, she said it isn't unusual. Cook county is always backed up in her experience. It doesn't sound right to me.

Rem1997,

Call your school and let them know and see what they say. I hope this doesnt stop you, especially when this is out of your hands.

Thanks for the advice! Our registration was yesterday. The coordinator told me not to worry about it because I had just had one done. She actually told me to cancel it. But there were a couple other people there who were waiting on the county clerk to process theirs also. Registration took a little while but it was painless...:nurse:

Hey did you get the classes you wanted? That's the only thing I'm scared of .......not getting in the class I want

There were really only two choices day or evening. I noticed that the other colleges have way more options. I would just say get there early!

The "day" class is Mon and Tues from 10a to 11:50a and the "evening" class is Mon and Tues from 5p to 6:50p here on campus.

"day" class has 2 clinical options - either Thurs or Friday from 7a to 12:50p (you only pick one of the clinical days not both)

The "evening" class also has 2 clinical options - one is Thurs from 7a to 12:50p, the other is Thurs from 3p to 9p (again, you only pick one of those options not both

The director actually signed us up and put it into the computer and then we had to go to the business office to pay/confirm.

There were only about 6 other people there when I went. What took the longest is for them to go through your medical papers.

Also I don't know if this would apply at your school but since I chose "day" that is the track I have to keep for the whole program.

We do have and morning and evening cohort, which is assigned to us by our preference, if available. For scheduling we have been assigned times to come in and register and we get to pick our classes according to our assigned cohort.

Did you get the classes you were wanting? Also, do you know if we need a certain kind of shoe?

Rem1997,

Girl no I didnt :banghead: Plus, now my employer wants to give me static about my school schedule . But its gonna work out for the best. I am also taking Pathophysiology and Pharm.

About the shoes I just know they need to be upper leather. Alot of the other students were stating their nursing shoes cost anywhere from $60 to $75. Not sure on the brand.

Oh no! Are you working full time? It will work out. Which class is pathophysiology? Do you know if the shoes have to be white? I am nervous but excited for this semester to start. How about you?

Yes, I am so excited  Yes, the nursing shoes has to be white. Pathophysiology is the special topic for Bio 299 at Daley.

I work fulltime, nights:wacky: I know I know, this is going to be challenging :nailbiting: I just cant wait til I become a :nurse:!!!!!!

Hey all, did anyone get the uniforms yet? I just got one set today and they were on back order. I have a pair of dark danskos and I was hoping to use those! Where does it say they needed to be white? :nailbiting: I'd like to not have to buy a new pair ): Does anyone know what books to get yet? Thanks!
