CCBC FALL 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all!

I just submitted my application to CCBCs Essex Day program for Fall '19. I immediately felt like I was going to puke! (hopefully this is a good indication?!) Anyway, I would love to connect with other applicants, so we can worry together.

Hoping to hear back from some of you!

I'm enrolled in the Frostburg ATB, and I received a "semester plan" from (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) about a week after I sent my acceptance back. The orientation course is a joke- seriously. And to be perfectly honest, I am more and more grateful every single day that I went with Frostburg. The work load is super manageable (even with CCBC classes, working full time and being a single mom). I don't know if it's just my incessant obsession with managing and prioritizing my time, but others in my cohort chose other ATB programs and they feel very overwhelmed- especially earlier this semester doing Concepts I and their ATB course.

Thank you for this! I was torn between Towson and Frostburg, but ended but choosing Frostburg because they are online, and the Towson program director told me there is no guarantee of getting all online classes at Towson because they sign people up based on who sees their adviser the earliest.

Are the books and supplies at Frostburg expensive? Do they give you scholarships, tuition reduction, or payment plan options?

The FSU texts have all been SUPER affordable thus far; the most expensive one has been the Ethics book, but even that I found on Amazon for $75. They offer some grants and scholarships that you can apply for, and a payment plan similar to CCBC's (pay X% down by a set date, and then the tuition is broken down into payments each month).

Awesome! It seems like they are really reasonable and suited to working people, similar to most RN-BSN programs.

I submitted my application to Frostburg last week and getting in touch with (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) is a nightmare. I have to send emails twice so he will actually respond. The other thing is I don’t even know if they’re getting my transcripts. I sent all of my transcripts last week to the email they told me to. Then (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) finally responded and gave me a different email to send it to so I did and My application checklist says all of my transcripts are still awaiting ? so annoying

Your not the only one. I think frostburg has almost every community college in this state doing the ATB with them, so I'm thinking he gets hundreds of emails. The fact that he never responds made me want to choose a different program though.

Agreed!! I keep worrying that I didn’t even really apply lol

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I keep thinking they accidentally emailed me for acceptance lol.
