CCBC FALL 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all!

I just submitted my application to CCBCs Essex Day program for Fall '19. I immediately felt like I was going to puke! (hopefully this is a good indication?!) Anyway, I would love to connect with other applicants, so we can worry together.

Hoping to hear back from some of you!

Aly

If you got waitlisted at CCBC, are you automatically rejected by the ATB universities or they will email the decision after CCBC announce their final decision for waitlisted students?

Does anyone have info on what times classes usually were or are for evening and weekend

If you're not in an ATB program:

129 M 6-9 for the first six (?) weeks

153 Tu/Th 6-9; Saturday OR Sunday lab for the first six weeks, followed by clinicals on Saturday AND Sunday from 6-12 or 7-1 depending on your site

155 W 6-7:30 lecture, lab is 7:45-9 (you WILL always be in the lab that long, especially if you are in Morse's group)

If you're in Frostburg's ATB, you do not take 129. If you're in Towson or Stevenson's, you do not take 155. I'm not sure about Notre Dame, I don't think any of my cohort is in that ATB.

Hi has anyone heard from Frostburg ATB? I got an email about a month ago asking that I submit my acceptance letter to them once I was in a associates program. I did forward the email, but I wasn't sure if they did not have the information from CCBC yet. Just ready to know about that portion of the program.

I was told that, generally, if you get into the RN program that you automatically get into the ATB.

Years ago, my husband was waitlisted at CCBC, but accepted into the ATB. He ended up getting a position in CCBCs program from the waitlist

I applied to Frostburg as well as Towson. For some reason I had a horrible time hearing back from them for everything! It took them weeks to return my emails, and weeks to get the code for the ATB application fee waiver. I'm kindof wondering if they'll send out letters by snailmail?

Towson always replied to my emails the same or next day though...

Thank you,

Also out of curiosity did you receive any more information before orientation or did you get all information at orientation. Thank you.

The bulk of your information will come at orientation. Just a heads up, you'll need to get your CPR certification, an annual checkup, a PPD TB test, and lab work done and upload it all. You'll also need to pass a urine drug test and get a flu shot when they're available.

I remember being very overwhelmed after orientation, but just take it one step at a time. Buckle up, guys!

So, as a planner, I just wanted to let everyone know, my friend teaches classes for BLS certification and she has already committed to having a class for me!! I figured I would pass it along since that is a requirement for the nursing program.

Hi Aly,

i was wondering where your friend teaches her class and how much she charges for the certification? Thanks!

Anyone hear from Frostburg yet?

Also, FYI there is a BLS CPR class on April 20th at the Towson Library if anyone is interested! Here is the link to the American Heart Association's class finder, you can search for classes by date/location.
