I submitted my application for Essex Day program- Spring 2014. I am pretty hopeful but nervous. I put all my eggs in the ccbc basket and didn't apply anywhere else. It is so convenient and so much cheaper than other places I really want to go there. But now I am thinking maybe I should have diversified a little.
It seems like a long road just to get to this point but it really is just the beginning.
They say 4 semesters- I don't know what classes are offered in the summer but I would like to do this as quickly as possible so I will take anything I can in summer/winter. Also, you will notice that some semesters you are only taking around 10 credits- but guidance told me that these are similar to full time when you include the clinicals even though it is not reflected in the number of credit hours you are taking. In fact- if you are on financial aid or required to be a full time student for any reason you still qualify even though 10 credits is normally considered part time.
I've also heard 4 semesters and that we're unable to "double up" because the classes have to be taken in order. Kind of a bummer. When/where is everyone taking the CPR course? Also, are you all planning to get your physical and drug test after orientation?
I just took my CPR at St. Agnes hospital.
I was going to wait until after orientation for background check/drug test because they didn't include much info in the packet about those things. I am guessing they will tell us how to go about all of that at orientation.
yes it was a 4 hour class, we finished early. When I registered they suggested that I buy the book ($15) since I was a first timer (not renewing)
We never touched the book in class. Just watched videos, then practiced. If I had the book ahead of time I would have studied it and felt more confident during the written test but there was no time during class to review. It will be good for future reference though.

Ella,
The due date is noted within the acceptance packet. I think it said November 11th?
