CCAC Spring 2010

Published

Just curious if any who have applied have heard if they've been accepted to CCAC Nursing program for Spring 2010 admittance?

Also, does anyone out there know what the likelihood is of getting your fist choice?

I'm resigned to paying for it since I don't really have a choice, but I wish that schools would be more considerate of the financial burden they put on their students. Oh well, gotta do what you gotta do. I'll do just about anything to be a nurse!!

I just went yesterday and got my fingerprints taken. They did it electronically. Very quick and easy. I was in and out in 10 minutes. They said it should take two weeks to get my results.

I too received my info packet with my letter (which kind of ruined the surprise, I figured it must have been a good response if I got the packet).

I'm a little blown away by the prices of everything as well, but it's completely worth it.

As requested - here is a little information about me. I am 20, I have two young daughters (ages 3 and 2), I am married (my wonderful husband works in health care as well), and I used to work full time as a nanny until a couple months ago, when I decided to quit and enjoy staying home with my daughters before I started back to school in January. I hope to get a part time job as a nursing assistant or something similar while I am in school. I already have my AA and I hope to pursue my BSN immediately after completing my ADN! I also decided to get in shape before I started school (not working helped a ton) and as of today I have lost 38lbs! I'm finally healthy and have lost all of the weight I gained during two back to back pregnancies!

Good luck to everyone, whether you have kids or not, or whatever your situation is! This is probably the best decision we've all chosen to make for ourselves.

CAL U Day program. It sounds like Boyce was on the ball about getting their info out!

christenmarie81,

do you happen to have the email address for melissa at north campus?

my situation is a little different and i'm wondering if that is why i haven't received a letter. i requested what ccac considers "advance standing" because i have some experience and have taken a few nursing classes at another school. it would sort of be like an lpn to rn route and they consider that advance standing which, so far, only meant that i didn't have to take the net test. all else was the same. i still needed the same prereqs etc. as everyone else.

anyway, the point of my babbling here, is that i was just going to send her an email in the morning asking if she could give me any info. or when i might expect a response. i have an email for janice augustine whom i spoke with a few times over the summer just making sure they received my packet so i was going to include her as

well.

thanks

I was accepted to CAL U as well and we should be receiving an info packet in the mail with requirements we have to fullfill before the program starts (read further back in this thread to get an idea of what the requirements are) and also when our orientation will be. Supposedly we will be registering our classes, getting uniforms, and info on our books, etc. at the orientation. If you want to speak to someone at CAL, email Shannon Wallace at [email protected] she is very helpful!

christenmarie81,

thanks again for your help and congrats on your acceptance:yeah:

Hello

Just wondering if anyone got their info from Allegheny evening. It looks like we don't have to purchase a stethoscope or other accessories just yet. Is that right?

I HAVE SOME INFO FOR ALL THE CAL U PEOPLE: I just emailed Shannon Wallace at Cal U and she responded right away!! She is mailing out our informational packets today!!! :yeah:
