  1. Thanks #1steelerfan.
  2. Hello everyone. My possible campus switch is being reviewed, but I would like to ask everyone when orientation for the Allegheny campus is, just so I know when to go if my transfer is approved. Looks like I'll probably be going to Boyce's orientation as well. Thanks again everyone.
  3. Thanks so much for the help, I have a ton to think about. I might just try to stick out the Boyce option, finishing the program early seems to tempting to give up. But the schedule would be an incredibly positive switch. Thanks again.
  4. I'm thinking of switching from Boyce Fast Track to Allegheny. It might be easier on my family, pocket, and stress levels to do so. My question is - does anyone know roughly what the offered schedules were like at the Allegheny Day/Evening Weekend program? Are the days varied and around what time do the lectures, labs, and clinicals begin and end? I am going in first thing Monday morning to speak with an adviser, but I was hoping you guys could give me an early look at what I might be switching to. Also, if I take this route I won't have to cram A&P2 and Micro in with my nursing classes this semester and in the summer at Boyce. I got the entrance requirements into the Boyce Campus on December 18th - by the skin of my teeth! I literally had a nurse reading my TB test that morning. I hope everyone else made the deadline as well. Thanks in advance for any posts!
  5. Newwavegoddess, I completely forgot that was an option. Wow, thanks for the reminder, that will surely help.
  6. I'm at Boyce. I got my first choice, Option #5. Tuesday Theory 4-7pm Wednesday Labs 3-6:20pm Saturday Clinical 7am-3pm I called about 2/3rds of the way through everyone, but apparently #5 wasn't that popular, because it was only about halfway filled up. I'm so excited but worried about getting all this stuff done before the deadline! I'm leaving on the 17th for FL, and hopefully my child abuse clearance will arrive by then - it's the only thing I'm waiting on. I mailed it first class to Harrisburg today - if it takes exactly 14 days, then I will get it in the mail after I've flown out on the 17th. If I have to, I'll pay my neighbor to drive it out there for me! Not to mention, none of my old doctors have my immunization records so I have to try calling my old schools. I'm sure it'll all come together, I hope everyone else is doing well with their requirements!
  7. Hello Everyone. charlie2981, my name is Emily actually. Someone mentioned something about going to the health department for our immunizations and physical, I looked up through the health department low cost or free health clinics, because currently I am completely without health insurance! So I went to the health department's website (http://www.achd.net) and on the home page was a list of low cost, free, or income based clinics (called Guide for the Uninsured and Underinsured). You have to bring in some information about yourself but it's worth it for the reduction of cost. I've applied for insurance recently but there is no way I'll have it in time for the December 18th deadline. Also, I can't wait to meet my fellow fast trackers on Monday! Registration starts at 5:30pm but does anyone know how long it might run for? My husband works nights so I need to know if he should request that night off. I hope all of you are doing well and aren't too sick from all this pressure! This really is cathartic being able to post here and know I'm not alone!
  8. Boyce fast track! And you?
  9. I too received my info packet with my letter (which kind of ruined the surprise, I figured it must have been a good response if I got the packet). I'm a little blown away by the prices of everything as well, but it's completely worth it. As requested - here is a little information about me. I am 20, I have two young daughters (ages 3 and 2), I am married (my wonderful husband works in health care as well), and I used to work full time as a nanny until a couple months ago, when I decided to quit and enjoy staying home with my daughters before I started back to school in January. I hope to get a part time job as a nursing assistant or something similar while I am in school. I already have my AA and I hope to pursue my BSN immediately after completing my ADN! I also decided to get in shape before I started school (not working helped a ton) and as of today I have lost 38lbs! I'm finally healthy and have lost all of the weight I gained during two back to back pregnancies! Good luck to everyone, whether you have kids or not, or whatever your situation is! This is probably the best decision we've all chosen to make for ourselves.
  10. I GOT MY FIRST CHOICE - BOYCE FAST TRACK!! Serenity - maybe we'll be classmates! Congrats to all - anyone who didn't make it, try next semester and you'll get it! YAY! :loveya::loveya::loveya::loveya::loveya:
  11. My mail doesn't run until almost 4pm! I have to distract myself heavily tomorrow to keep from going insane! Let's hope we find out by Friday.
  12. I feel everyone's pain! I hope somehow posting this will be cathartic - I am so sick of checking the mail constantly. Usually I am fairly calm but this is a life and career altering event. I feel confident in my qualifications (91% on the NET, 3.9 GPA, B in A&P) but I am rather nervous that I missed some paper or prereq in my application. I'm not sure if I can wait until November! I wish I could contribute something useful, but certainly I wish everyone here the best of luck.
