  1. I'm wondering if our clinical will be on campus the first week, I saw that Boyce's is. Im just wondering that because what exactly will we be able to do on the first day? I don't even know how to properly make a hospital bed, and I work in a hospital!!!! lol I wish there was some way I could get some of our books online because that is a large chunk of change to dish out!! Im just afraid of buying the wrong thing if I don't buy them at CALU In case anyone is wondering, I asked if we're allowed to use digital recording devices for lab/lecture and the answer I got is that they are permitted. I figured any advantage is good
  2. SWEET!!! Ok i will PM you! :)
  3. I know I was told that clinicals at CALU start immediately. Lucky for me, my first day of class is my clinical day. Shoot me now.
  4. I got my uniforms last week and I was told we get our clinical bags in class. I do have a facebook page, for the person who asked. Also just a reminder.....TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO GET YOUR PAPERWORK IN!!! Does anyone else have clinical on Tuesdays from 7am-3pm?? Does anyone else have lecture on Wesnesdays from 12pm to 1:50pm???
  5. The paperwork at CALU said that payment for NRN101 must be turned in by December 16th. I already have Financial aid loans in place for 2009-2010 through CCAC, wouldnt that just fall into my loans?
  6. I assume the building is Morgan Hall because that's the nursing building. I'm hoping it says room numbers online though too!
  7. I got answers!! 1. You do not have to be a full time student, unless you are receiving financial aid. 2. Classes begin Tuesday January 19th. 3. You do not have to turn the class schedule paper into registration. I will take care of that. 4. You can take pre req classes at CCAC or Cal.
  8. I feel like I have a bunch of unanswered questions. I also don't like that they demanded you give them what paperwork you have with you. I didnt have a chance to make copies of my forms and told the woman that and she said "we make copies and give them to you the 1st week of class" Which btw, when is the first day of class? *When do clinicals start? *Do we have an actual orientation where we get information? *Do I need to actually register for the list of classes I got today, or do they take care of that? *Also do we have to have a full-time class schedule? My paper that she gave me only has 8 credits listed. Do I need to take another class to be at full-time status, or am I allowed to be at part-time?
  9. I will be at CALU tomorrow around 9:30am-10am for our registration/uniform fitting!! Hope to meet some of you there!!! I will be by myself but I have short platinum blonde hair (that will make me easier to spot...lol) Say hi!!
  10. I'm so excited for Friday!!!! Hope to meet some of my future fellow students! It's always good to have some study buddies! :)
  11. Does anyone happen to know if all CCAC campus require the same books? I'm going to CALU day program and they havent given us a book list
  12. bETTY, How do you like working for Home Instead? They had some info for jobs posted at CCAC. I was thinking it might be good to work around my school schedule if my current job wont work with school. ~Christen
  13. CONGRATS!!!!!!!! :yeah:
  14. more info from cal: you should have the drug screen done the week ending dec 11th. there are supplies included with the clinical bags but a stethoscope is not one of them. the uniform company that you will be ordering uniforms from sells stethoscopes.
  15. 1. just got an email back from shannon at cal and she says: uniform fitting and registration shouldn't take more than an hour or so depending on how many people are here when you arrive. 2. 3. you can go to any facility to get the drug screen done as long as it is an 11 point screening. southwest medical center in california is a good one. the number to schedule an appt is, 724-938-8161 4. the drug screening must be done on or before the 11th.
