CCAC Spring 2010

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Just curious if any who have applied have heard if they've been accepted to CCAC Nursing program for Spring 2010 admittance?

Also, does anyone out there know what the likelihood is of getting your fist choice?

I almost wish we could just call and ask if we are accepted. I hate waiting. It's stressing me out! lol

Specializes in ICU, Step-down, CCU.

No letter on my end either, then I did not expect one since I found out they just went out. I am guessing they were sent from North (another mystery). Thankfully, it is maybe a day transit time for most of us.

Last I checked (yesterday), the "lists" were not to the individual campus's yet.

If it wasn't so dang late, I'd stop at the PO and hold my mail for thursday so I don't have to wait for the mailman to come.

I never even thought about having the PO hold my mail!!! I know classes at CAL start January 19th, so i'm wondering if thats when the CCAC nursing program starts there.

The CCAC Calendar says the 11th, of course CALU is missing. I have heard the orientation gives just about a month before classes start. Assuming after final week they have orientation, there is not a heck of a lot of time to get everything done. I am thankful, previous classes are giving us this head start.

For those who are going ahead with the clearances, one comment mentioned to me was to "hold off" until December. Why? because they are only good for 24 months. Take 24 months from December and you are at graduation, get them done in November and you have to "re-do" the clearances to graduate. The same with BLS, ACLS I was told is not mandatory in the 2nd year, so unless you get ACLS you will time out on BLS.

Only repeating what a senior clinical instructor told me as the issues that people see at the end of the course.

Oh okay!! Thanks for the info, thats very helpful!

No letter here either! I also realized it is a holiday tmrw. So here is hoping for thursday!:D Good luck everyone!

So Betty why is it that there's no mail tomorrow but we still have classes? LOL  :oornt:

Really! what is up with that?? we should be off! but then again I would not be able to check the mail bcs there is not going to be any at least tmrw is my long day so it will feel like thursday will get here sooner! Of course my son has a drs. appt on thursday so I probabably won't be home when the mail comes. I'll have to wait until the end of the day.....

Christenmarie81,

Thanks for your response! No mail tomorrow:hdvwl:I'm going to lose my mind if I don't get a letter on Thursday!!

Also not sure how I got on the Fall 2009 thread.....for a while there I was thinking you and I were the only students that applied...LOL! I have found the Spring 2010 thread (obviously) so I'll post on here if I hear anything!

I do know someone going to CALU now so let me know if you have any questions after you get accepted etc. She was a transfer student from another nursing program so I'm not sure if the process was different for her since she already had some nursing classes done. I thought about going to CALU bc I live near Waynesburg but I work in Pittsburgh so I figured it would just be easier to go to Allegheny and I took my prereqs there.

Well, Good Luck to everyone! I hope we all get good news on Thursday!:nurse:

Ok everyone! Hopefully we'll hear something tomorrow!!! Please post when you get your letters!!!

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yeah:

Oh! Also, in the spirit of getting a different answer everytime you ask, I asked in both the Nursing Office and the Nursing Secretary's office (at the South Campus) and they say the letters aren't even being sent until friday nov 13th.

I think theyre just trying to mess with our heads at this point. :sniff:

I hope you guys get your letters by the end of this week. I remember how nerve racking it was waiting 6 months to get a response. I'm sure this happens semester after semester and I don't know why CCAC hasn't done anything about it.
