CCAC Spring 2015 Hopefuls

Published

Hi All!

Just sending out a good luck huzzah to everyone applying for the Spring 2015 cohort at the Community College of Allegheny County.

We can start applying tomorrow and the the deadline is August 15.

I am all done with my pre-reqs and co-reqs, so am excited to get this application process rolling. I am going tomorrow to meet with an advisor to be sure all of my ducks are in a row.

Anyone else out there applying?

I finally got my packet. I had to email her because she said 2-3 weeks but it was 4 and I got nothing. She emailed back and said the LPN's didn't get sent out yet. But I received it yesterday. What I'm worried about and confused about is paying for all this. If we can't pick classes until orientation in December, how can we apply for loans for a full time student when we aren't registered for full time credits? Normally by now or very soon, I'd have classes picked and loan requests filled out to be ready. I just don't know how or if I can do that when I can't register for classes.

You just apply for your grants or loans as you typically would for a full time schedule..you will still get approved. Once you go register for classes you won't have to pay unless your tuition is more then your approved for

Thanks so much! That's very reassuring!

Omg. I'm freaking out.... I'm lpn to rn south day... just got my acceptance letter and no packet. They sent me an email for the paperwork. I don't know when orientation is. I don't know anything besides the secretary said fill out paperwork... she's the only reason I knew I was in. She told me she just found out. I got my letter after that. I didn't have a gpa on my letter..... this is so scary I just hope I do well. Good luck everyone

Hello All!

I literally just got my acceptance letter via email on Friday, October 31st for Allegheny Evening Program!! Does anyone know when orientation is? Of course I haven't got my packet of info yet.

Regstration for allegheny night students is dec. 9th from 4-6pm

Does anyone have the phone number for the allegheny campus if I need to contact them about not receiving a packet.

Thank you! I just got my packet today! I have alot to do

How is everyone going about their immunizations? I can't find any of my records and I'm scared that they will cost an arm and a leg.

I had mine through my work and I work at the VA so they require all the same titers and immunizations luckily. You could try to get through your work. Immunizations are expensive unfortunately, hopefully you have insurance. If not, you could go to a Walgreens and pay for them out of pocket. I don't remember where or when I had the hep B series but blood tests for the VA show I have immuntiy to it so I've had them and moved around so much as a kid that I have no idea where or when I had them. I called the nursing secretary and she said to submit the blood test and see what happens. I can't see them making me have the three shots when my blood test shows I'm immune. If you are not sure if you've had the immunizations, they an check blood test for the titers for certain shots

Walgreens web site lists their prices for shots, for example a two step PPD is 60$
