Applications are due on August 15th so I wanted to start the thread for all of us hoping to get in for the Spring 2014 semester! I'm currently taking Bio 110 (my last pre-req) and will send my application for Allegheny Evenings in on Thursday when my class is over. I have a BSBA already so I have all of the co-reqs done except Micro, A&P 1 &2. I probably won't get in because of it but my GPA is pretty decent so it's worth a shot anyway! Plus, with the changes in the point system it might work out. I'm taking Micro and A&P 1 this fall. I don't plan on applying anywhere else.
Anyone else? What are your stats? What campus did you select? Do you have any questions for the community?
Good Luck!
Thanks again. Sounds about right. If you have 12 or more ccac credits they will only use your ccac GPA and then they add the points for having your sciences done. Your chances are really high. Hopefully there's a letter waiting for you. I just took my seat confirmation straight to the dean of nursing secretary I didn't want to fool around with mailing it back I had to make sure they received it. Currently waiting on my packet from Boyce. I'm anxious to know what needs done since there is so little time before the semester begins. Good luck to everyone who are still waiting!!!
Yes. These are the exact words from the letter: eligible students who did not receive their first or second choice of campus were placed into campuses based on available seating at the point in which they were accepted. Students are placed in a time slot similar to that chosen by the student on the application.
Well, made it home today and no mail; which is strange in general since I always have at least junk mail? Maybe the Allegheny program is still choosing and ranking applicants? I will keep everybody posted, I am hoping for a letter that begins with " congratulations Mr. Rivers!" Looking forward to learning how to be a great nurse!
Ya nothing for me either....im anxious, worried, scared, sad, upset....I can go on and on. I want this so bad that's why it makes it really hard not knowing anything. At least if I didn't make the cut I would think I would had got a rejection letter of some sort. This wait is really taking a toll on me...I cant even sleep since I heard the letters were coming out already and I have not got one.
it's going to be ok cole04! you just gotta try and keep yourself busy. it certainly seems as if they didn't send letters to everyone so we just have to try to be patient. I'm sure if anyone else gets a letter they will be posting. hang in there and stay positive! I'm probably going to stay away from this thread until I get the letter because stalking it for responses is giving me anxiety. lol.

Hello mrsralph and congrats again!! I could not apply to anything but the Allegheny evening program so just one choice. I have a BS in Biology and a 4.0 from CCAC with A&P1-A, A&P2-A, and Microbiology-A, (which was a repeat; my other Micro class was just about 10 years ago). So from what I've been reading about the 12 credit CCAC GPA calculation for GPA(also took medical terminology and nutrition; now enrolled in pharmacology) and the extra points; I have a 6.0 according to their point system. My total undergrad GPA from previous institutions is a 3.3. Let me know if that sounds about right?
I think my chances are good, all of my other non-nursing classes are completed....Eng 101,102, Psych, Dev Psych, Oral Comm, Calculus, Statistics, etc. Who else is applying for the evening Allegheny program? Again, I hope everybody on this thread gets a chance to begin training for a career in nursing this semester; your desire and commitment to this goal is admirable. I've enjoyed all your posts!
