Hey all ! Just wanted to start a new thread to discuss any replies for admittance to CCAC FALL 2017 nursing school! Has anyone heard back yet? I applied in person at CCAC Allegheny after MLK day. I know they extended the application deadline, so I am hoping they need more people and that we may find out sooner than April 2017. On the edge of my seat!! My poor postman! I am behaving like another student mentioned on this site, like I am trying to find out if I won the "Golden Ticket" for the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory. Much nail-biting happening! Anyone hear results back yet? This is one of my first posts, and I planted it in a few areas, to see if it gets responses, so please pardon the repeated posts.
i think your letter isn't being mailed until the first week of may, or at least that what is said per the email amber sent out about mailing timelines. Good luck!!!I was speaking of the teas overall score, and I didn't take my exam until the 7th of April so Ill most likely get it soon I hope!
Does anyone have any suggestions on when its best to apply for the nursing program?? Is it best to get ALL of your prereqs out of the way?
Hi! I did my pre-requisites and I am happy that they are out of the way. Plus, nursing admissions gives you extra points towards your GPA for admission if you have taken Anatomy 1 & 2 and Microbiology. I applied previously without having these done and had a hard time getting in.
In the long run when I hear how demanding the program is with your clinicals, I have to admit I am happy I didn't have to book these classes while doing nursing classes. The scheduling for the nursing classes is pre-set. It is difficult to book classes in addition to that fixed schedule.
Hope this helps, and sincere good luck to you!
I plan on applying in August to start the program in January 2018. I'm taking A&P1 this summer and then A&P2 and Microbiology this fall and will have all my prereqs done before I would start the program, but not before I would apply. Do you know if they would take this into consideration when reviewing my application?
I went to a 4 year university and graduated with a 3.6. Haven't taken the TEAS yet, but I'm sure I'll be ok. Out of curiosity, to the people who have been accepted, did you have all prereqs done/what was your GPA and TEAS score?
I have a Master's degree as well, but still feel nervous about getting into this program.
Have a question for you all. Have you received any word on when we will receive a packet containing orientation dates? I examined past threads, and it seems it should be coming quite soon. Also, I am not sure if each campus handles this process differently? Any insight would be appreciated.
thanks again!

I work as a nursing assistant in passavant and a psych tech at an agency prn in trying to move casual at the hospital. I'm planning to work full time still because I only have the nursing classes and my second job is super easy. I'm also taking a loan out for living expenses just in case I have to cut back hours
