CCAC FALL 2018 hopefuls and more

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello!

This is being created for the CCAC nursing students who have applied to the Fall 2018 semester. I saw one that was created for the Spring 2018 and thought it would be great to connect and share information for those of us that are hoping for this coming Fall.

So, when do you think we will hear back if we got in or not?

What were your TEAS scores?

How many of you have taken the prereqs and supporting classes?

What campus did you choose and why?

Is this your first career or are you looking for a second career?

I'll put my answers in the comments below. I look forward to connecting with you all and am excited to hear about your adventures!

My friend emailed Amber and was confirmed that TEAS scores DO NOT matter what so ever......This is just silly. I guess I need to pray now LOL

I do not think this is true becuase even on the admission page, it tells you the median TEAS scores people get. So it would definitely have to be apart of the application process.

Only a week or two for the early applications! Getting excited! I can't wait to see !

That's what I thought too until I read the email. Amber said TEAS exam scores are not part of the APP score that is given to applicants.

Did you personally email Amber? I think she only sent it to people who had already emailed her.

Amber Emailed me back finally and said she has everything for me and the applications are being processed and we should receive our responses in the mail sometime next week! How Exciting!! Positive thoughts! I cant wait to hear who gets accepted!!

I'm dying! Next week! Gaaah! I'm gonna buy some kick a##. Shoes and a nice warm fuzzy shirt to celebrate! Call me crazy...I believe in the power of belief... ✨ (Backed by hard work...). I'm actually so excited that someone is going to tell me to get shots soon....

I read the email with my friend who's planning on applying for spring. I guess now I'm a little frustrated because of it :(.

Does anyone know how many seats are open for evening program? I looked into class registration for spring 2018, and it looks like there is 80 seats for evening...... I don't know if CCAC is taking more for fall......hopefully I'll be able to grab one of those spots...

@iol5040 Not sure. I thought there was more than 80 for the Fall registration. Where did you get your information on the 80 seats for evening in Spring?

I looked into class registration and searched NUR 110 Spring. I saw 2 evening courses that was capped at 40 seats so I just assumed it would be 80.

That makes sense. I would imagine the number would be even lower than the availability though just as a buffer. You can see the Fall Nursing courses now in the catalog. Right now it says this: 40 for Allegheny, 80 for Boyce, 40 North, and 40 South. THIS IS ONLY for Nursing 110 availability after 4pm. It's not 100% but it likely gives you an idea.

Remember they will have other students who need to do retakes of courses and ones who may have held off on coming into the program for sickness, death, pregnancy....etc. There's always something. Even if they have a ton of applicants, they don't always take the number they can. If you look at last fall, they had over 500 applicants with 360 seats available but an acceptance of only 349. I'd say if your application is solid and your pre reqs are good you have a solid chance. Plus...they can always add people the the course too...so long as the instructor agrees. It doesn't happen often, but I've seen it happen every once in a while.

I wonder if we can just register right now to see if it either blocks it or not lol maybe it's a secret way of finding out haha
