CCAC FALL 2018 hopefuls and more

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello!

This is being created for the CCAC nursing students who have applied to the Fall 2018 semester. I saw one that was created for the Spring 2018 and thought it would be great to connect and share information for those of us that are hoping for this coming Fall.

So, when do you think we will hear back if we got in or not?

What were your TEAS scores?

How many of you have taken the prereqs and supporting classes?

What campus did you choose and why?

Is this your first career or are you looking for a second career?

I'll put my answers in the comments below. I look forward to connecting with you all and am excited to hear about your adventures!

I would assume that the appeal process is an opportunity to make a case for yourself. There is a lot to be said to someone who is fully committed to making their dreams come true. If you are currently taking courses, have a solid plan for the process and anything else that you think is relevant that makes you a good candidate.....I think all of these things are worthy mentioning.

Some people, when rejected, will no longer pursue it, some will wait and some will appeal and try to do all they can to achieve their goal. All I know is that there is an appeal process, which means there is another door to enter the process. An appeal would offer you an opportunity to show up again in their minds and with your credentials. It would allow you to "show up" at a different level and perhaps show them something they may have missed. It's an opportunity for a "second look".

I would never say "I did good but it wasn't good enough", I would say: "I am good enough and here's why..." And "I love people and I'm fully committed, here's what I've done to show this....." and please tell me: "What can I do better?" It would let them know you're there, ready, willing and committed.

I pay attention to the people with passion....they are often the ones that change the world and do the best at their jobs.

In my mind, someone brave enough to appeal could possibly fit into this category and I know I'd want to give that person a "go".

I wish there were more responses! Us 4 can't be the only ones applying!!!! haha

Maybe the intro questions are too intrusive?

Hi! I have also applied into the program at ccac south! I'm very nervous! Although my grading and test scores are slightly above average, I'm still scared they aren't good compared to others!

Welcome! It's getting close now! Just a couple weeks. Think positive thoughts...there is power in belief! Here's a link to the student manual for the nursing program so you can be prepared for that acceptance letter! Community College of Allegheny County :: Nursing Program Student Manuals(1). And yes. ...I've read the whole thing already....#excited #optimism

Hi everyone! I'm here too! Applied for Fall evenings at Allegheny campus. Anxiously awaiting!

Welcome! Glad to have you join us!

Soo...has anyone started to try and find the coolest most comfortable nursing shoes yet? Or is it just me....ha ha ha.

So it's april now! I hope decisions come either this week or early next week :(

I did start looking around for some stuff but I don't want to get too far ahead of myself and get the wrong stuff! í ½í¸¬ Plus I really don't want to get my hopes up but I think it is too late for that! Ha!

From looking through previous years pages it seems the decisions come more towards the end up April. ☹️

Hey guys! I applied for south campus full time, and I read earlier on this thread that emails were sent out to people who had applied before march 1st.. however I have not received an email and I applied in late January :(
